Image Sync

First off, thanks for making this app. My problem is firstly, it only stays connected (wifi) for maybe under a minute, then it kicks me out - every time. (Leaving me with a very small window of time to do what I need to do on the app.) Secondly, it stopped showing me live view. Which I sincerely need it for. This app could be phenomenal! Kindly I ask, may you pleeease fix this app? Because I love the idea! Thank you for your time. UPDATE: It's not allowing me to connect to wifi. It just no longer works.

Terrible app! Pentax should be ashamed for stating their cameras have a Wi-Fi function for image transfer when it does not even have a working app for this. When it used to work the image transfer was very slow and would quickly disconnect. More work needs to be done to develop this app to the standard of other competing camera brands

Needs more work on file selection and file transfer. File transfer for Pentax KP fails to work. As it stands at the moment its only feature is viewing pictures hosted on the camera.

Dreadful. Pentax / Ricoh should be ashamed to have their name on this app. Transfers 1 file at a time, taking 20-30 seconds, app is unusable. Seriously, so slow it's quicker to remove the SD card and attach to the phone using a card reader. Live view / shooting is usable, but severely limited by the short range for the feeble Wifi signal from the Camera. Perhaps 3-5 meters max - making it useless for shooting wildlife from a blind or your sofa. Will not allow shooting unless in a single shot mode. Very limiting. Laggy for focus point selection. It's also not obvious which IS a focus spot which leads to tapping. Shooting is, again, laggy and denounced so rapid shooting is not really possible. It's SO disappointing because some of these issues should be resolvable with even mildly clever programming. ( Experience with Pentax K-1 v 1.40 fw. )

This app needs serious improvements in user-operation, performance and stability. Images are not even rotated when the phone is tilted.. Please update ricoh/pentax!!

Almost unusable. Can view but hardly able to copy to my cellphone. Can't share pictures. Software is as un user friendly as their desktop app is for picture editing.

I purchased a new phone and an already poorly built app stopped working completely. Why can I connect, look at photos, but can't download?

Works great with my K1 on z5 and ipad. All functions work well so long as you set up one card to save jpegs.

This app will not save, share or edit photos. Keep working on it please!

Can't use remote shooting

Use it to take pictures remotely and it works great.

Updated review: The newest app update works like it should and is responsive on Android 7.1.2. connection issues seem to have been solved and is now stable. Thank you Pentax for fixing this app as it is almost a required feature on most cameras now.

Greatly improved reliability with K-70, software has improved quite a lot since release. Would now be 5 stars if it would rotate when the phone is tilted. This app now adds that transfer and tether function I was looking for.

Having just tried it out on the K-70 it disappointing as it is unable to upload a full screen preview to my tablet as they are taken. You must select the thumb nail after each picture is taken. It seems that the app is more gimmick that professional. I'll just have to keep to using my eyefi card until it is updated. Fingers crossed.

Can't believe Ricoh produce an app that doesn't work with Galaxy S7. I can transfer files but can't control GR2 from my phone unless I use their browser software. Come on Ricoh, invest some effort into this app and stop letting your loyal customers' down. Just upgraded to Firmware v3.0 and still this app DOES NOT WORK properly.

Its so Slow downloading on WiFi forget Raw have tried it on Samsung Tabpro. Tab A. Galaxy J3. Trend plus & Timmy M7 Bluetooth would be Faster

My god this app is horid! Why would pentax make such an awesome camera as the K1 and make it's WiFi capacity virtually useless? The potential for wireless file transfer and camera control were two primary reasons I invested in getting a K1 and now seeing how useless the wireless capacity of this app and camera are, I'm considering returning the K1.

Using with GR II and this app refuses to connect to the camera through both NFC and over the camera wifi. What gives?

Frustratingly I have to enter the cameras wifi password into the app everytime! Please change this so that I can save the password and get straight to it. I haven't got touch to focus working yet but at least I can transfer photos from it which is the main reason that I want it.

it is really hard to click the "tiny tick" for selection, better have 2 new button 1. transfer 2. wifi (for select the ricoh ap)

I like that it can control the camera, I would love to see it be able to change the focus manually for use in focus stacking.

This app is horrible. The images transfer once in awhile

If you are looking for a camera that is capable of tethering, look elsewhere, because Ricoh Pentax appears to have no plans to make it work.

downloading photos unstable.

Can transfer files over to my gallery or upload to Facebook which is nice. Love that I can remote my camera with my phone, neat feature. Only problem I had is it doesn't connect right away, usually the second time it does. Can be a little slow to transfer a lot of pictures, but not a big deal. Hope there will be updates to add more things in future. Using this with k-s2, also I am on Android 7.0

This app is like an unreliable friend. Always letting you down, but you continue to put up with the crap. LG-G4 used to work with this, at least somewhat. Now completely unusable....paid big money for a camera with a feature I wanted so badly but can't use. Fix this junk and leave alone!!!

Seems to work OK, but there is no ability to select all images to upload. That means that if I take 200 photos, I have to tap my phone 200 times to select each one for transfer. Totally ridiculous and would rather purchase a card reader...and Wi-Fi was one of the bigger reasons I upgraded from K50 to K70!

Very unstable. Will not connect reliably. No instructions or help menus. Can't find a tool to copy pics taken, to the device or anywhere else. The function tool appears so briefly one cannot click an action. This app needs a lot of work. Ricoh/Pentax has dropped the ball on this one. Pentax K-1 Wi-Fi is unusable without a working app. Just getting connected is a real chore. Without a doubt the worst app I've ever tried on my Nexus 5. Connection is improved, but the output options are still unusable on my Nexus 5. My K1 is updated with Ver 1.4 and Image Sync was updated with the newest release. It still needs work. Finally some success, but the transfer rate is very slow. Full size jpeg files could take 30 seconds or more.

ZERO STARS! Totally useless. I contacted help desk. Got this in reply. "Thank you for contacting Ricoh Imaging and providing us with your feedback on the Image Sync app. Your e-mail has been forwarded to the team of our team of developers for consideration. We hope that when new version of the app is released its functionality meets your expectations". In other words, get lost!

It struggles to connect for no apparent reason. It really needs an option to save the camera ID code/number as I have to keep going to the menu to find it. When it works, it works really well.

Pretty much rubbish. Works sometimes on my Galaxy S2 tablet, won't work at all on my HTC M9 phone. Often have to resubmit the WiFi password before it will connect. Bought the new Pentax K70 to be able to use the WiFi features but am VERY disappointed by this substandard software from Pentax. A 5 year old could code better!

On the occasion it works it's useful, but connection K1 is flaky & live view mode will stay working for no more than a minute or two. Have had better luck with the iOS version

It works. But no one seems to mention how slow it is! Gave my old canon to the girlfriend. The Canon app transfers about 14 photos by the time my pentax K-s2 sends one using image sync! Been waiting a year for some sort of speed up update! Pentax K-s2 to Sony Xperia z5 using image sync

I bought a new K-1 and this software provides almost no functionality or transfer ability. Live preview is 3 seconds at best, transfers crash. You don't know if you are connected either.

This app does not work at all on my Motorola PlayX. It freezes on the opening screen. Works perfectly on my friends iPhone though.

I was planning to purchase a new Pentax K-70 next week and Wi-Fi was one of the main reasons. Now I may consider another brand because of this poor software.

Works well but I would like some more features; i.e. more access to the camera menus. Using Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 6.0.1. Ricoh should work on this app a bit more.
