Density Altitude Calculator for Android
I use this app for car racing purposes. It worked great up until a few weeks ago. Now it won't calculate after stations are selected.
Used to be great, now no longer works as of early 2016. Does not work on Galaxy S4, S5, s6 or S7 Edge or any LG or Motorola phones. made after 2009. Remove or fix it.
Use to work. Now we cannot get any location. When it came out it was great
Used to work great, but now has stopped working and will not pick up local weather data.
Not accurate. Doesn't match the DA as reported in the ASOS after plugging in the ASOS-provided details.
Doesn't pull data from airports any more? That feature quit working like a year ago, what gives?
Won't load data from airports now...so it's worthless to me
Don't work hasn't in over two months
Use to be awesome but quite working
Quit working, used to be great. Uninstalling
Does not calculate.
At first I thought wow, but after getting accurate data readings from quality instruments (Altitude, Temperature, Dew Point and Barometric Pressure) and using the formula to calculate density altitude I found that this app was out sometimes 300 - 400 feet and definitely not accurate.
Like how it pulls data automatucally but it does have some bugs. I believe it is accurate though...it uses dew point to factor in humidity and that does have an affect on DA. Most calcs as well as the paper graphs assume 0 humidity.
I will give this 5 Stars just as soon as the airport search function is fixed. Tried it on Note4, Tab3, Acer500 & 2 other droid devices. Always get 'No Results Found' for KIAD, IAD, kiad, Washington DC, etc. Please fix ... this. Otherwise, this is the very best tool for DA I've found. Also, how do I get Temp & Dew Pt to default to F°?
Very intuitive. User friendly with no hassles. Good job Developers!!! Thanks.
Search Feature does not operate!
New. And I like
The remove adds option does not work.
Works good
Please add negative numbers, otherwise great app, and works great, love the airport feature.
Nice that it pulls weather data from airports, but sometimes we're departing back country fields and we know temp, baro and field elevation but not dew point. It would be nice to enter this data and get a rough estimate of the DA. Decimal point is inoperative in the symbol mode when entering different temperatures. OK for baro pressure. Still a useful app.
Works great.
I wish it had a better selection of weather towers. Around Durham, NC it seems to be missing quite a few. Other than that, it works fine.
Been waiting something like this for a long time! Would be nice to be able to see the entire metar the same time as the DA.
All three of Rick's Android apps are excellent. I am very impressed. The Cross Wind Assistant is something I wish I had when I was still training for my pilot's license. I'll use it all the time, since it makes runway choice so simple and straightforward, And Density Altitude has always been an important thing to know and flight plan with, but I always wondered if I had it right. Now I can double check my usual guess in seconds! Still working on setting up the weight and balance app, but am looking forward using it all the time as well. Highly recommend these for private pilots everywhere! iPad users should be jealous of us Androids!
I selected Bruce Meadows Airport, near Stanley Idaho, a high altitude back country airport. Field elevation is 6,370 and with a 75F day and dew point of 32F, that density altitude was a whopping 8,665 ft. A "layer" function provides a list of nearby airports. Very cool app.
Not even sure what it does...but I love it!
What a great app. Will help me out next year at the track. THANK YOU!!!!!
Good app ruined by the half second ad flashes.

Not picking up the local weather data to calculate density. Pretty much a dead app with out that. Hasn't worked for about a month and that's too bad. Creator hasn't replied or fixed the app. Please remove app.
