Aircraft Weight and Balance

LOVED a previous version of this app. I used it with my Thorp T-18 for several months and loved that I could customize it to suit my airplane. Not so sure about this version...I lost all my apps (and original version of this app) with a phone upgrade and looked for this app again...it doesn't appear as user friendly but time will tell...I will report back after I try to set it up for the T-18 and use it for awhile...

Fun to use but unsafe. My 1967 pa28-140 has a different flight envelope than the one provided. Piper supplies each aircraft a copy for that aircraft. This app is a free spreadsheet online. I adapted the W&B spreadsheet to my specific airplane and also used the baggage loading via Piper drawing required drawing for type certificate. This app must be upgraded to be safe to use.

Two suggested features: fuel in litres, display of results in table form (to check hand calcs of all moments)

I'm looking for a good w&b app but this one here seems to be abandoned. To bad since the math behind the scenes appears to be solid. A little polish would go a long way. Anyway I tried to purchase the app to support future updates but it did not work.

An update - this app appears to have changed significantly since my previous review, and no longer works correctly on my Galaxy S5. There are no longer entries for each seat, and the saved data for my airplane has disappeared! Not sure what happened... I have been searching for a W&B app for my DA40, and this one was exactly what I was looking for. It allows you to customize and save the data for each of the aircraft you fly, including arms and CG envelopes, by tail number. Then before a flight, you can fill in a simple form with the weight of each of your pax and cargo, and it displays the CG curve, complete with takeoff and landing weights. It's perfect! I did find a minor bug in the data for my plane, and contacted the author. Rick fixed the problem and released an update the next day - now that's service!

Gallons is only used in the US ,the rest of the world uses litres, time to adapt don't you think?

App crashes every time I try to calculate w&b. Custom AC, C172SP. Samsung Galaxy S4

I like the app but have not been able to buy it to get the full use...

Simple setup, accurate. the purchase remove advertising option does not function

App stops every time you do a calculation. Useless.

By far the worst weight and balance app on Google Play and obvious the developer has a different full time job and it is not programming. Do NOT waste your time or money on the app.

The calculations don't fit with oem calculations previous version allowed for more advanced editing

Worked better until I purchased it. It will not remove the ads and, worse yet, gives incorrect calculations. The calculations are different in portrait mode vs landscape, with the same inputs.

The app will not save the values in the C.G. envelope page if you customize it. When you hit save and go back and select your aircraft, it puts what it thinks is the CG envelope parameters back into the boxes and not what you just put in. Very frustrating. The CG envelope for the existing planes in the database cannot be customized. I want my money back.

Pretty basic but does the job just fine. Ads are slightly annoying but haven't found a purchase option to turn them off.

Great that you can build your own airplane (including cg envelope!). Wish I could create backup file in case I loose my device and have to restore.

Great app, easy to use. Get 5 stars by making app usable with kilos and liters as well as allow default weights for the other fields. Please.

Even though its limited to the "aircraft templates" provided, the templates themselves are very customizable. Therefore many aircraft not specifically listed can be created by choosing a similar template, then editing the row, baggage, and envelope parameters. This is easy to use once set up!

i could not figure it out. Kept locking up. Rick directed me to the help page. Wah lah it works! So. Read the directions. Go to his webpage on your desktop and set up next to it if you have to. Then it is simple to use. beyond that, i asked him to include a simple way to figure landing weight without having to run the program twice - and he did! Thank you Rick.

Can't enter your own aircraft. It only works with the aircraft that THEY entered. No instructions. No place to enter any info except pilot and front seat pass and fuel on board. No other inputs available. The screen shot shows that you can edit aircraft, but I see no way to get to that screen.

I was able to customize this to the exact CG envelope of several aircraft I fly. I find it very easy to use and so helpful for evaluating different load configurations on the spot.
