About Floating Soft Keys *ROOT*

* Requires rooted phones. If you don't know what root is, your phone is probably not rooted *

Ever felt that the default soft keys are too bulky? Or want to protect your Home hard button from wearing off? Then this app is just for you.

Presenting Floating Soft Keys.
This app makes use of pingpongboss's StandOut libraries to make small (and resizable) soft keys that you can drag anywhere across the screen. For devices with soft keys as default navigational controls, this app is most effective when used in combination with CyanogenMod's or ParanoidAndroid's expanded desktop mode.

The app has been tested to work properly on Nexus 4. If the app is not working on your device, let me know.

DISCLAIMER: Although the app isn't designed to harm and is safe as far as I can tell, if something happens to your phone due to this app / during the use of this app, please do not blame me. You can contact me for support and I'll try my best to help you, but my help will not include "monetary help". Use at your own risk.

I have cracked my screen in the bottom left corner of my phone and the soft buttons don't work because of that. This app is a real savior until I can get the screen fixed. Maybe even after because I am used to it and it is conveniently when you can move around the soft buttons and reach them better. Thanks for a great app.

This Applications is excellent. It works easilly and without freezing. But it would be greatest if you and the "back botton" to it. I am not sure if it already has it... Cuz in phone it doesnt appear. Keep Moving Forward! Congrats!

The only problem was that the power button function didn't work, even if I gave it root access. Also, if I rotate my phone, the buttons move towards the bottom of the screen and get hidden. Other than that, I find this app to be very helpful.

Great app and I love it! One request tho, can you make an option to have the softkeys pop out like pie control? Thanks?

K70%

Great application works a it should. I am using it because my back button bit the dust. I love the versatility that the resizing and moving options provide.

it's very easy to use and capable to replace my phone keys. but still need some functions and customisable.

I am doing this rating in hopes it will bring me back to my home screen. I seem to be stuck in the set up thus far

Back to 5 star. The issue of freezing screen was probably not because of this app I guess. It continued later too. Now fixed screen but am glad this all helped while I was having trouble. Good app overall.

I like the idea but you may need to be able to change the color of the bar, re arrange the button order (especially in vertical mode) and pick which buttons you want (because I don't use the menu button that much). Also would be useful to change the size of the buttons independently and perhaps you could give the home long press more actions. Keep up the good the work, hope seeing these features in a future update and giving youfive stars. Edit: "LMT launcher" from XDA forums, way better than this.

Somehow system ui got deleted from my Lenovo ThinkPad's system and I no longer have a status bar or soft keys on my Lenovo ThinkPad..... But this fixed it! Thanks Dev-this worked - 10*'s!!! Now just need to fix my system ui problem, but in the mean time I have access to my system and apps....... This app is a must now..... Keep on rocking and biggest hi5!!! Now how in the heck does a system app just disappear?? That is my quandary?? And why can't Titanium B/U just reinstall?? Weirdest problem I've ever encountered in my years tinkering with root on many devices...... Whatever..... All questions have an answer..... Riddle me that...... Ah....... And the answer is - ? - ? -

But I miss a feature: a recent apps button. Another suggestion : double menu bar, even beeing rigthanded, a lot of times I use the smartphone with the left hand, it would be nice to have menu bar in both sides of the screen :)

I got a new phone that have hardware keys but they are not illuminated so really hard to use at night. This was perfect solution as I didn't wanted a bar to take up screen space.

F70%
by F####:

Good app and works well with root. Downside is it covers part of screen and keys cannot be customized much (such as order or most function). Also cannot be placed over existing soft nav key area.

S70%
by S####:

It would save time with a widget or button to turn on/off the bar. Nice if there is an option to change the buttons position. On my phone you have from the left the Menu, Home and Back button, but your bar is the other way around. Nice if there is an option to have the drag button ontop or underneath the bar for phones with narrow screens. Even better if on long press of the power button the Power Off, Restart... menu could appear.

Broke my capacitive buttons when replacing my screen and this was the perfect replacement. I love that the buttons can be moved and the icons customized.

Although these keys do a really god job, there are some bugs (such as crashing, especially on youtube), and lack of customization (such as customizable buttons). Overall, though, a great app.
