File Manager HD(File transfer)

Due to music, pix & apps, the available storage on my phone is pretty low. I use other CM apps with great success so thought I'd try this. I'm nervous about deleting files as I'm not sure how to make sure what files are where. I've got an SD card & I'm not sure to see what's on it either. Help please?

Awesome android file manager app. Just what I needed for my Nexus 7. Love it. App uses minimal device resources. This app helped me find and delete junk files that careless apps left behind. I was able to free up half my tablet's storage space. Thank you very much. Rob.

(1)Misses the rather fundamental ability to make a folder for placing a file during a move operation. That is, cannot select a file, select move, create a folder into which to place the file. (2) when trying to provide feedback to the developer, the app chooses which of my email tools and accounts to use, without providing a method for me to choose.

It's not just a file manager, you can use it for an assortment of other tasks. From the novice to a techie it can be configured on your comfortably level. The more experience gained gives you the confidence to try other options within the app.

Literally does it all. I'm using a G5 and still struggling to move my apps to muy sd card, but from what I've read its almost impossible. But transfers address quick and simple and when dealing with a zip or compressed file, hands down best one I've used out of the other fibre I've tried. Only thing I'd add or change, would of course to be to add a something that helps ppl like me move apps to their massive sd card I'd like to actually fill up.. Kudos

I've owned Cheetah Mobile products since my first smartphone. I've watched their development leap over competitors. I have also seen them at their worst. They seem to rollout new features freely, but when their 'upgrades' fall short or mess up something, it takes forever for them to address the issue. I continue to use this app with Marshmallow v6.x & a SD Card, because they screwed up their Pro version.

Love CM, but sorely lacking. Only 4 listed (recent Dropbox uploads), of my 505 apps. Such a shame. Love all other CM products. Need to upload a couple dozen more apps for more phone storage space, but NOT possible via. THIS File Manager. Disappointingly Uninstalling.

"File Manager HD" CONTINUES "calling home" AFTER I exit (& even deleting it from active applications). Only stops when I go to my device SETTINGS>APPLICATIONS & hit FORCE STOP on it. MY response to YOUR unethical decision to communicate behind my back is to use my VPN firewall to permanently BLOCK ALL outbound communications from your app.

Very good, but can not move files to SDcard. The other problem I am having is when you open the app the upper shortcut on the main menu does not display the various shortcuts, i.e. Home, etc forcing you to work to get them to display, yet all the other shortcuts are displayed. The upper set of short cuts should be expanded when the app opens.

One of the great features I USED to love about this app was access to files on PC network however not sure why but connection speed with PC has reduced significantly (could be due to upgrade to Windows 10, not sure). Would love it if F.M team could solve this transfer speed issue

Toggling root explorer breaks everything. I can't simply cut a backup from clockworkmod over to my downloads to put into my PC. Doing this also doesn't allow sdcard exploration for w/e reason because this thing is garbage now. Years ago this was a great app now junk.

Ext SD Card was working fine. But now can't rename, copy, paste files to the card. Other file manager apps work. Card works in other devices. Very frustrating. Update: still no better. Have uninstalled. Shame.

My favorite! One of the scarce file managers where you can manually add SMB connections (by URI). Has everything else you would expect. Cloud storage, root access, media streaming, etc. But not bloated. Great!!

Another update and still no way to hide the annoying timeline?! You must hate 5 star ratings. Until there's a setting to disable it, 1 star it is. I'm considering switching file managers now.....just saw an ad for some Booster thing in my paid version of this app? Seriously? How about listening to people's complaints instead of ignoring us? The reviews are full of people who hate the timeline...and there are a ton of fake 5 star reviews...

This became the most useful app but now after recent updates it's interaction with external USB flash drives has become a kit kat like nightmare all over again. Keeps forgetting I have already selected the drive and then can't write or delete. Just do bad I am having to use the stock Samsung Files app to delete :( Ok, given up and bought ES File Explorer Pro for £2.99 and it is brilliant and does what is says on the tin and more. Shame you had to ruin your app

The app is stuck in low brightness and freezes. Don't understand what happened. I have MetroPCS LGk7, the phone freezes everytime I turn down the brightness. Usually can be fixed by shutting on and off the screen. This app is stuck and other than taking out the battery and using AC3 player I have no clue.

Many simple features are unavailable to mr such as deleting multiple itemsat once or renaming or copying or moving any item. The file manager asks me to confirm my sd card but does not give me the options that are show in the tutorial images.

This app is good. I am using this app for more than 2 yrs. Recently I have changed my device and now this app creates some problems. 1. When I install this app I can't give or remove permission from other apps due to screen overlay reason. Please make suitable this app for 'moto g play 4'. 2.This app wants permissions at the time of installation. I think this the source of the screen overlay problem. I have noticed those apps who doesn't want permission at first and I can select the permissions whenever I want, this apps doesn't creates any problem. Please read this topic carefully. It is a problem of many peoples.

However, since flashing MM 6.0.1 onto my Note 4, it can no longer perform any functions on my ext SD card, other than reading files. Renaming, moving etc fail.

I tried to contact customer service again. They have ignored me again. I cannot connect to some cloud services. Sidebar menu takes 2 clicks to work I have tried to feedback to developer on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS but have been COMPLETELY IGNORED. What was once a great product is ruined by lousy customer service.

It was excellent app in previous versions of Android but when I upgraded to Lollipop, a message kept flashing select your SD card first which is nowhere to be found in my MIUI device. Please fix it!!

Everything in one app: cut, copy, cloud access to box Dropbox, drive, etc and with several accounts, access to SD, root folder, transfer to pc without extra software, good interface, stable, fast. I was try many others and I use this for a long time (like 1 year or more) and found more incredible features. And free!

Great application! Using it on my original Motorola Xoom tablet. I do have a question though, I am trying to browse my Windows Network, but when i try, it just says scanning network, not showing anything. Actually it was because my screen went into hibernation mode, shutdown hdd, guess it cant go into hibernation mode while sharing. I just found this as a minor bug, but please fix on your next release, the docs link in the library tab does not point to the documents folder on my internal sdcard 0. Please update that so the docs link in the library tab points to the documents folder in the sdcard 0 folder. Actually all the library links -- images, video, documents etc don't point to my sdcard 0 paths like pictures, videos, images folders..How can I update those folders? Thank you! Brian

Appears on my Moto Z Force, File Manager will not work because of an overlay issue when trying to grant permissions to storage, camera, location, etc. If I remove app, phone works fine. Install app and I can't set anything up. Interesting. Great app and want to start using it on my new phone.

Great file manager but the coding send to have issues with Google's latest patch updates since if the 'draw over' permission is allowed for file manager then it's no longer possible to click the 'allow' option in standard android permission dialogues.

When I open any kind of file, i.e. a PDF, I can't use this app anymore, it's is hogged by the file that is open, horrible programming! After entering search words and getting results, there's no way to sort those results or see details, when using 'locate file', it goes to that folder but only to the top, not to the file, try that in a folder with 1000 photos, scroll forever! I'll use ES Explorer for now, please fix those and it will be a 5 star app.

Had to uninstall. Reasons: 1. Screen overlay detected bug in v3.5.0. Blocks access to many good apps. ex: Fitbit Uninstalling fixed this right away. 2. useless recent files homescreen that cannot be disabled 3. root mode blocks access to regular internal storage (SD card) files.

Tried to copy and paste from phone to SD card. Tells me "I need to select an? SD card"....but I AM in the SD card, why is it called SD card of its not? It shows you a picture with the 'steps to select SD card'....but the options don't exist. It's a dead end. Wtf?! If I am looking IN the SD card and I'm not really there, you've fundamentally failed the app's ONLY objective.

I liked this app but I can't create shortcuts to folder or files to my home screen for easy access. This feature is available on other launchers but here it is missing. Please add this missing feature & add black theme option too, everything is boring white which hurts eyes.

I paid money for this app, all was well for a time... Then one of the latest updates reintroduced ads again. Deceptive. Please fix this for those of us who paid good money for your app, Devs! Edit: they fixed the issue so I've upped the rating. Took one star off because the fix took wayyyyy too long. Edit 2: Now they've added back more ads. I'm done with it.

All other apps runtime permissions requests lead to dialogs with not working allow button. Stopping file manager fixes the issue

Now support memory card. We can remove, move or copy any file from SD Card.

I unable to transfer the files from internal memory to SD card. Waste one

Used to love this app. They've added a timeline, which I hate. I do not use this app to look to see what I've downloaded recently. If I wanted to do that, I would go to the download folder. At least give me the option to turn off this feature or to bypass it going straight to device. Options are good.

So far I really appreciate the recent files timeline and folder by size analysis (even though back button is broken in it). I wish it didn't try to handle images and video itself (I don't like an all in one app).

Can't even transfer file keep asking select SD Card but no select button offered.

2015-04-10 edit: Ads have been added to the paid version, contrary to the terms of purchase. The help file still has instructions to pay to remove ads. When it is corrected, I will restore my rating. Otherwise, file Manager HD is superior to other popular file managers because it can write to the external SD card in Android 3.2 and above. Other popular file managers were never properly updated for Android 3.2 (they fail to request `media_rw` permissions). File Manager HD can also access SMB shares and provides one-touch access to important directories, like the downloads folder.

I paid for the ad free version, now I get ads! Want to go elsewhere if this is not fixed soon.- now seems to be fixed so review changed to 5 stars - back to 1 star ads reappeared.

On marshmallow update i am unable to transfer data to my usb through otg or vice versa

Finally I the application is deleted from my phone. I installed an application to manage files and directories and now I have a heavy application full of useless tools. There are things I you would like to disable and there is no option for this for example the new timeline
