About ReThink - Stops Cyberbullying

ReThink is a teeange girl’s journey to stop cyberbullying before it starts. ReThink Before The Damage Is Done! **** ReThink was featured as one of the most innovative apps by Google Play PlayTime! ****

ReThink is a non-intrusive, innovative and award-winning solution to stop cyberbullying before it happens, especially in young adolescents and teenagers. Use ReThink Keyboard to give your child a second chance to pause, review and ReThink their messages on every app they use.

My name is Trisha Prabhu, I am 17 years old inventor of ReThink. When I was 13 years old, I was spurred into action by the anger, sadness and frustration of the death of an 11-year old girl that committed suicide because she was repeatedly cyberbullied. I took on the cause to find a solution to stop cyberbullying. The result was my product, ReThink. Together, we can stop this silent pandemic and promote internet positivity and responsible digital citizenship in young kids. Please visit http://rethinkwords.com/ to learn more.

ReThink’s Game-Changing Solution:
• ReThink is a patented, innovative and award-winning solution to empower adolescents to make the positive decisions online and become responsible digital citizens.
• ReThink is a "behavioral science based" nudge or a brake for impulsive behavior to ensure hurtful messages are not sent in the heat of the moment!
• ReThink detects offensive and hurtful content in real-time before it is posted and prompts the user to reconsider posting that message. With this gentle brake, a pause, a second chance in real-time, adolescents change their minds over 93% of the time.
• ReThink is a proactive solution that counters conventional solutions today, such as “block the bully” mechanism OR “report to an adult” mechanism, by taking the burden off of the victim to report harassment and instead tackle the issue at the source.
• Parents get the much needed peace of mind, so that they don't have to the dreaded helicopter parents looking over their children's phones!
• ReThink works with every app that uses a keyboard! - text messages, emails, social media etc.
• Give the gift of ReThink keyboard to your kids, pre-teens and teen so they learn to make right decisions online and offline! Choose ReThink Keyboard from device settings to give your child a second chance to pause, review and ReThink their message before sending it.

Why ReThink?
The adolescent brain is likened to a car with no brakes. It is well known that adolescents can be impulsive and make rash decisions. The part of the brain that controls decision making (pre-fontal cortex) does not fully develop until age 25. Offensive and hurtful messages sent in impulse, are found in everyday online interactions, causing immense mental and potentially physical harm to the recipients. Kids and teens do not realize that once an offensive message is sent out, the damage is done – and the Internet is forever - they really can’t ever “delete” it.

My rigorous scientific research has shown that when given a chance to pause and reconsider before posting a hurtful message, adolescents change their minds 93% of the time and do the right thing. The overall willingness to post an offensive message drops from about 71% to about 4%.

How can I help this cause?
• Please raise awareness about this issue so children across the nation and around the globe can take advantage of this effective tool.
• Please request your child’s teacher or principal to nominate two students from their schools to become ReThink Ambassadors at http://rethinkwords.com/students. This will help spread ReThink message to students at their school.

If you ever experience a crash or any bugs associated with the ReThink app, please send an email to support@rethinkwords.com instead of posting a negative review – we can help fix the issue much more quickly if you contact ReThink Support.

Giving away your security passwords locations bank details..just everything. You switch your phones keyboard by giving permission to the app to use its own. Everything we type may be saved stored or recorded. Stay away from such traps.

M70%
by M####:

Just watch Shark Tank and found out the app was free.. Yayy, good work ur gonna go so far in life, keep up the great work.

Z70%
by Z####:

Auto correct turns go into Tim and hey into Jeff. It probably messes up with other things too. It has no haptic feedback nor hold backspace to delete an entire word.

Y70%
by Y####:

Rethink is the dumbest app idea ever produced... with any app like this your information is going to be viewed so say goodbye to privacy. oh I guess I should have rethinked this before i posted but I didn't... bullies will be bullies until they learn the hard way - this won't fix anything, it is just an app to collect texting data - there is no such thing as an app the doesn't collect and retain digital data.

Z70%
by Z####:

It's a great initiative.... Just loved it But I actually have a problem it won't recognize the Harsha words, is there any possible way in which you might be able to help me out

M70%
by M####:

That was supposed to say autocorrect makes the keyboard unusable". The keyboard changes common words that it should know already.

Z70%
by Z####:

I hate it. You have to use their keyboard, And their predictive text gets everything wrong.

Z70%
by Z####:

One words sums it up : horrible. Don't download this. She had a perfect moment to make something useful with the power of shark tank, but failed

S70%
by S####:

In five minutes I was able to send "no one likes you," "everyone hates ryan," "I wish you were dead," and "you should have been aborted." As someone with programming experience, this is pretty pathetic.

G70%

A beautiful girl, with a smart mind. Who made a great app to stop cyberbullying. Even though it changes the keyboard. Its not how I thought it would be. But It's a nice start. Keep it up. Congrats.

Z70%

This is a really cool app that allows you a second chance at something that would hurt you and the person your texting. I think we should all encourage this wonderful oppertunity that Trisha has given us and not put down her effort in helping end cyber -bulliying. And it may not have all the quirks electronically that would make it super good quality, but it is the effort that counts. Great job Trisha!

Z70%
by Z####:

THIS APP IS AMAZING!!! I am using the keyboard right now. The autocorrect is a little weird, and the board will take some getting used to. Trisha Prabhu is my idol, the coding is just amazing. I am writing an article about her for school, so I downloaded it to see what it was like... SO AMAZING. I recommend this to EVERYONE.

G70%
by G####:

I tested the app by sending "kill yourself" to a friend and it didnt pick up the phrase. The app also is aesthetically unappealing. In addition, the autocorrect is horrible and changes words that are spelled correctly. This app seems like something middle schoolers learn to make in scratch. Not effective and not good.

Z70%
by Z####:

I like the idea but there are still some problems with the app. For starters, it's a completely separate keyboard so it doesn't have swype, which I have to have swype. Secondly, it said that even though it doesn't read passwords it does read credit card numbers which doesn't make me feel very secure. Last, when I saw it on Shark Tank the example used was the word "ugly" which it didn't even give me a message on when I typed it.

P70%
by P####:

Saw this on Sharktank. I liked The idea, but I thought I could type in certain words specific to my husband when we are arguing. Its The only way we can speak our minds with our 2 year old. Could be a new marketing approach if some tweaks are made. Keyboard must include swipe.

T70%
by T####:

2 Suggestions. Customizable themes with swipe abilities. Parental controls, with pins or passwords, with screen shots sent to parents phone via Text. When a child sends an inappropriate message. Auto correct is wrong, and changes simple words into words that aren't even close

Z70%
by Z####:

I sent my sister a offensive text on purpuse and it didn't give me the option to stop it. The auto correct is annoying and incredibly wrong. IT TOOK ME FOREVER JUST TO WRITE THIS REVIEW BECAUSE OF THE OLD STYLE FLIP PHONE KEYBOARD IT HAS!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

I70%
by I####:

Great app! I just saw the creator on Shark Tank. Trisha is a bright and beautiful young girl who created a nice app. I was skeptical too, at first, but it legitimately makes me rethink my typing decisions. The only problem so far is that the autocorrect is kind of hard to get used to, and can be very inaccurate. Other than that, this is solid.

B70%
by B####:

I do think there should be another version for teens that consistantly offend others. Also for the light version, i think each Time it is triggerd, it should explqin the affects this has on others, maybe if its triggered enough times, the send anyway button disappears, qnd offers other ways to express yourself without hurting anyone. I saw you on shark tank, if this app hels one person its a. Success. But hopefully it will help billions understand the power and affects a text can have.

G70%
by G####:

This is a very simple and badily made app. You can insult by just avoiding the trigger words which are very limited. The app is triggered by non insulting words, letters and by deleting which makes typing a hassle. The keyboard is uncomfortable. Even after all of the money and 15 min of fame this "child prodigy" could not fix the most obvious bugs. I can't believe Marc Cuban invested in this app. This girl deserves an award for her deception not "inginuity".

Z70%
by Z####:

I saw you on shark tank too. Great job! This is a terrific app to help stop today's pandemic of bullying. You never know helping stop the Cyber Bullying may even help with every day bullying people may actually think before they speak. In your sense"ReThink." Great Job and much luck!

Z70%
by Z####:

I like the concept, but the autocorrect on the keyboard is rediculous. I can't permanently get rid of it, because you can only get it to go away until you use it again, and the autocorrect is back. I'm tired of my friends' names popping up when I type in words, or at least try to.

T70%
by T####:

Doesn't stop anything harmful I have tested. Only stops completly clean sentences. Weird but true. Also cyberbullying is not a issue because if you get burthurt over what someone says on the internet then you have no place on the internet. In summary make a app that works, can't believe you scammed a shark

Z70%
by Z####:

Needs more testing ... This app is a great idea for teenagers to stop cyberbullying that might lead to tragedies with young lives. However, it is very buggy app on android. It works partly with whatsapp but not SMS. Needs a professional programer to fix the bugs and make it easier to use. Uninstalling for now. But a good try from a teenage programmer

Z70%
by Z####:

I am so grateful for this app. I inlet daughter knows better but sometimes she needs that tap on the shoulder. It's almost like my voice in her head when I'm not able to be there to guide her decions.

Z70%
by Z####:

This is an amazing start to a very real problem. It may not stop bullying single handedly as some of the negative ratings seem to expect it to. But I see the big picture here and want to thank the devs for taking a big step towards a better kinder world. This generation is trying so hard to make huge leaps towards acceptance and understanding. Things like this can give those who are afraid to stand the support they need to send the right message to their bullies. That it's just not ok to say hurtful things.

Z70%
by Z####:

I saw this on Shark Tank and loved the idea which is why I gave it a 3 star rating. As a parent to a teen in a technology age Something that could honestly help with cyber bullying is not just making them rethink but honestly having it block hurtful messages from coming in. If it scans the message and detects hateful words then those messages auto block on the device. So no matter how many times they rethink it and send it; the true victim never sees the messages.

I70%
by I####:

The problem you mentioned on Shark tank about a true cyber bully just ignoring the message could be remedied if you logged and sent that message to their parents or guardian, thus creating accountability for the action. Just a thought

S70%
by S####:

This doesn't find offensive phrases, it just runs off of keywords. I wasn't even allowed to offend myself by say "dang it, I'm an idiot." This concept of censorship is so pathetic. K1ll y0urs3lf "d3vs"

Z70%
by Z####:

This Is not a true rating. Saw you On shark tank and was moved To get app. Tried to send hate message and it stopped me. Good start. Real rating will come In a few months when I can really judge the effectiveness Of The app.

U70%
by U####:

What is the point of an app that simply asks you if you're sure you want to insult someone? Ask a terrorist if they think they are a terrorist. Most likely they are not going to agree (they will think of themselves as 'freedom fighters', or some other beneficial moniker). Now ask a cyber bully if they think they are a cyber bully (stupid term, btw). Guess what answer you'll get. Stupid idea for a problem that will only get worse as these kids get older.

Z70%
by Z####:

I don't know if this will STOP bullying but I do believe it will help to make less of it. Just got done watching her on Shark Tank by the end I was almost in tears thinking if the good it can do.

Z70%
by Z####:

Another app for this generations "safe space." If you can't handle mean words, stay off the internet! Block numbers if you have to. This is the reason why this generation is so weak because no one teaches their kids to "get back on the horse" but instead, blame the horse.
