ReSound Smart for Android
It is unsettling to think a company that produces a great hearing aid would condone and allow the continuation of such a poorly designed and dysfunctional app. Come on guys, please offer a quality app for Android phones or state up front you only support Apple products.
This app. Really Sucks. It cuts out automatically even when I am right next to my phone. I can't connect the Clip or my Hearing Aids for any length of time. Oh but I was able to stream Pandora, for 3 minutes before it lost connectivity. WTH ??? A lot of money down the drain for Something That Could Be So Much Better !!!
App worked for a month or so then started changing volume settings on it's own. Now it not link with aids at all. Extremely disappointed and will be discussing a replacement. Spend thousands on devices and these are now no better than units available at much lower cost. From other posts this is not a unique situation.
Hey Re sound!! Samsung S8 and S9 now on the market. Still not compatible with either phone! How about a response other than were working on it. Next hearing aids will not be Resound for the price. Will definitely do more investigations into other aids.maybe hire better app people.
Pretty bummed i was told app would connect with my hearing aids but guess mine are to new. I need resound linx ts 61. Anyone have those that work with this app?
Really loved the app , then I switched to the Samsung S8+, and the app no longer works. Have called ReSound customer service. They keep telling me they are working on it. but its been almost a year now. Its such a joke when you call they don't tell you anything.
I was really happy, then I had to reconnect my aids. It found them, but then when downloading the programs from them, it failed. Then it couldn't reconnect. I am now trying to reinstall the app. Hopefully that will help. If not, I guess this is not the app for me. :( It did not help to reinstall. Support was contacted, but I have not heard from them for days. I am extremely unhappy!
For the basics it works well, but the fact that you can not stream directly from your Samsung device is a major issue. To be able to fully use the hearing aid and the app you actually have to purchase a apple product.
The app works fine for what it does. The interface sucks. $4,000 hearing aids and they can't put a little money into improving the app. And that was there selling point that they could be used adjusted on my smartphone
Not happy, consistently drops Bluetooth connection. Can not use any other function such as text or answering a call while on a call without losing the hearing aide connection. I bought the resound Cala861 at Costco specifically for the advertised tech. I have an android S4, and was assured by Costco that it would work on my android device. It worked kind of for about 3/4 months. Now it's more frustration than it's worth. I will be returning it-sad when you know how the tech is suppose to work and it is advertised as such, but then fails miserably. I own my own business and being on the phone is a big part of it.
Wearing the hearing aid for 3 weeks. With the android phone, you need the clip to help stream from the phone to your hearing aid. The app itself is good. Rating of 6/10. It has a lot of great options. You can create your own settings in a different environment. You can adjust your bass, tremble and volume. One of the best things it has is the hearing aid finder. You are a liar if you aid you never lost your hearing aid before. The app helps you locate your hearing aid up to a feet. Another is that its amazing to stream music and phone conversation with the clip. Hears so much better than headphones or trying to listen on the phone without the clip. Issues with the apps itself can be fixed by Resound. The connection with the Bluetooth (BT). My job requires the BT to be off. So I have to do this 5-6 times a day. Even you turned on the BT, you have to manually go to the app to link to your hearing aid. The User Interface is annoying. I have to go through three buttons to get to the BT setting and establish the link. Same thing for the tremble and bass. Setting up a button for the environment requires patience and intelligent. So Resound, if you need a tester, talk to me.
What a POS, It used to work but now which a new update there is no sound enhancements. The app is completely useless
Two thirds of the settings, either don't work or automatically shut off, or reset at random. If it was not necessary for the use of my hearing aids, I would happily delete this app.
I'd thought by now the app would work on other devices other than Samsung's. The app is great and should be available on more devices. All I can say is Really? $4,000 for these hearing aids. I will evaluate my choices better in about a year. Sorry for the downgrade, but you earned it.
App on Samsung S5 would not connect to hearing aids no matter what I tried. Finally had to uninstall (losing my favorites - again). It would only pair after turning phone off for three minutes and reinstalling again. Fourth time this has happened and it is frustrating and lousy.
Constantly needs bluetooth re-pairing between app & resounds but then constantly fails to "find " the hearing aids. I have several other Bluetooth devices paired to my Samsung S7 that have never given me any problems so why should I have them on the most expensive Bluetooth device I've ever bought? If I paid the same price as the iPhone app users, why should I get more problems & less competent technical service?
The Resound Smart App should be made available for the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone! I have the ReSound LiNX² hearing aids and the Smart App was available for my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge but when I upgraded the phone the Smart App is not available for the S8. Also the Direct Streaming that is available for the iPhone should also be made available for the Samsung phones!!!!
This app only adjusts the volume of my hearing aids. It isn't as advanced as with my old IPHONE where I could use it for Bluetooth class and listen to music. This needs to be updated.
Not compatible with the LiNX 5 first generation even though the ReSound web site says it is. Audiologist and I only found this out after the aids came in and we could not set them up with the app. Seems like they should work with the app if the model is still being sold.
The app works swell on the Galaxy S5 but will not install on the S8. Why not? It would be a good idea for GN Resound to fix this ASAP before they lose customers.
I just installed the ReSound Smart App on my Galaxy S6 it seems to do as described. I will see how it will works for me in time.
Application can not find my hearing aids, at all. Rebooted phone and both aids nothing.
Complete waste of time. Buy another brand of hearing aid.
Very hard to use. Not user friendly.
This app has always worked well for me. No complaints. ????
I am finding this app very useful..... Still playing around with some situations.......... GO TO WHERE YOU GOT YOUR HEARING AIDS FROM AND GET THEM TO GIVE YOU THE DIFFERENT SETTINGS YOU REQUIRE....... THEY HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THEM DIRECT FROM THEIR COMPUTER TO YOUR HEARING AIDS........ you can always go back to original settings they give you....... Hope I have helped some of you out...... Cheers.... Merry Christmas!!!
The previous release of this app performed some useful functions with my LiNX 7. When the current release was installed, it sent a message saying that I needed to upgrade my LiNX 7 firmware for the app to work. However, even after the firmware upgrade, the app won't connect to my LiNX 7. My audiologist spent half an hour on the telephone with a ReSound representative who couldn't get the app to connect to the phone. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android release 6.0.1. At present, the app is completely useless to me. I will re-evaluate it when a new release is available. 12/16/2016. I got the new release. It still doesn't work. It won't even attempt to pair with my hearing aids.
Two thirds of the settings, either don't work or automatically shut off, or reset at random. If it was not necessary for the use of my hearing aids, I would happily delete this app.
Worked for a while. But then the app won't connect to the hearing aids. Aids are paired ok in bluetooth setting. App just won't connect, says the aids should be paired. Helpdesk responses very slow and not helpfull. App goes to "demo" mode while I select otherwise. They should fix this. App works again after rest of my phone. But updates are few, still no direct straeming to my phone
I'm having the same problem many others have described in that following the "upgrade" I can't open the app from the icon. I can only open it from Play Store. The app was working very well from my Galaxy S5 prior to the upgrade. After uninstalling and reinstalling the app and pairing the hearing aids again, the app seems to be working like it did pre-upgrade.
Not a very stable application, causes hearing aids to cycle through programs under certain conditions (happens when I'm driving in the car). The App Icon disappeared from the phone but the program was apparently still there, just unaccessable. Have to remove and reinstall.
Runs great when logged in, but to adjust from phone I have to reopen from the Google Apps Store, will not let me open from Icon short cut.
Your last update deleted my icon connection. The program is still installed. When I touch the icon it says program not installed. How do I reconnect?
Got my ReSound Linx2 9 Hearing Aids because they could be used with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. After a lot of time and research, I was informed by ReSound customer service that they know there is a problem with the Smart App but they have no idea when or if it can be fixed. I would hate to think I am going to have to spend another large amount of money on an I Phone just to be able use all the features of my high dollar hearing aids. This is borderline false advertising by ReSound.
Icon disappeared from screen after update. Now I have to go to the play store every time I need to make changes. Not enough options to make hearing comfortable in most situations.
The new update does not add an icon to my Samsung Galaxy S7. In order to use the app, I must open "play store" and open the app from there.
No longer connects. As with all IoT, grave security / safety concerns.
Functions shut down automatically. Very frustrating.
Works fairly well; however app will frequently drop connection. I have had to un-install the app at least three times.

So, the volume adjustments for the hearing aides work occasionally. The finder on the app is okay, but not having the ability to stream with my device is upsetting. When I connect using an IPhone there is so much more I can do. But, on any android device I'm extremely limited. I don't want to switch over if this could be avoided. Is there ever going to be an update?
