Exposure Calculator for Android
Great, but it doesn't help me with my 9 stop hoyo nd400 filter because it makes out at 6 stops.
Very helpful app. Like the option to switch between full an d 1/3 stops. Full stars, keep up the good work
Calculator does error at ISO 50 when change the EV to +1 and +2
I shoot a lot of large format stuff with darkroom paper instead of film. This app would be a lot more useful if the iso could be set to 6 instead of capping it at 50. Thanks!
Interface simples, funciona perfeitamente e dá para compensar com filtros ND ou valores de EV personalizado.
Looks a mess on my tablet screen ISO 50 is not low enough.
Works great and I use it all the time to calculate when I'm using ND filters with my film camera and digital camera.
3 stars for nostalgia purposes. Stopped working entirely on my phone, which is a shame because I used it for years.
I would like to see ISO of 320, 640, and 1280. Also would like f-stop of 1.8 (Sigma 18-35 Art lens) Thanks
A little more complicated than some apps. More versatile using ISO F/stop, & shutter speeds. A good range of ND filters to work with.
In the opening screen, try changing the ISO. Increase it, and the exposure time increases!
does the job as it says, simple and straight forward, thanks
After some 5-minutes experiments, I found it pretty easy to use. The App does exactly what has been asking for, and that's the good of it.
This app suffers the same problem as some other ND apps: it bases the calculations off of the preset camera shutter speeds versus the actual math, which results in inaccurate calculations of 6.25% once you start getting past a certain base exposure (the actual point at which it goes inaccurate is dependent on the base exposure setting). For example, do the math on a 1 second base exposure using an ND64 (6 stop) filter and compare it. 6.25% off is huge in long exposure photography.
EDIT: The dev responded to a recent inquiry and stated this app will no longer be developed. If you have issues, you may not get a resolution. This was a very effective app for me when it worked. -- None of the radio buttons work on my 2014 Moto X. Tested across two .models on 4.4.4. Any help from the Dev would be appreciated. 3-starring because the app worked well in the past.
When you have your settings perfect for a single or couple portrait, now there is a huge group and you need to reset the ISO, F-stop, & shutter speed...plug just either of the three options to get the correct exposure without guessing or testing. Exp: F4.5 to F8.0 [new shutter & ISO to match]
I am using this app really often because of my love for long exposure photography using strong ND filters up to 13 stops..... can't imagine life without this app.
Great app for calculating exposures. I use this when star-trailing in a single shot. Usually make the shot with very high iso and short exposure time and then calculate the new values using like 15'. Works like a charm. Congratz !
Thank you the app. can you make video how to use this app. thanks bro.
Doesn't rape your phone
Just what I need, not bloated with Crap I'll never use. It would of got 5 stars if move to SD card was enabled.
I need this for my ND400.
Easy to use, does exactly what it's supposed to.
This is exactly what I need to convert my old shutter speeds to modern ones on my 1957 camera!
Just what I needed!
The addition of a countdown timer would be useful, would save swapping between this and the clock app. Apart from that, an excellent app, thanks.
Best one out there. Free also. Finally someone thought of making an app for exposure times. It's simple and just straight forward
Seems like just what i am looking for. But it will not allow me to scroll down.
A simple, effective tool, but unsuitable for shorter display ratios.
been looking for something like this to help me with my long exposures. thanks.
Saves me the headache of calculating the correct exposure using my 10 stop filter
It would be nice for it to work out longer exposures too, working out what values would be needed going down from ISO 3200 to ISO 400 say.
I would prefer 1 more change, to be able to input the ND value of my filter... For the rest an excellent app! Thanks!
Very simple app to perform quick exposure cals when I use my big stopper nd10 filter. No more wasted time trying to calculate the exposure in my head. Thanks for a great app!
Equivalent exposure or any other calculation no longer on kitkat devices.. Putting in the same values as the screenshot displays as 4sec instead of 4mins.
Exactly what I needed; bought some film to try out this great lens that I have for my old Canon A-1. I don't have a light meter, and I don't trust the built-in one, so I'll be using my digital EOS for light setup and metering. The widest aperture on the lens on the EOS is 5.6, the widest on the old lens (a 135 mm fixed length) is 2.5, and, being so used to all the automatic settings on the EOS, I'm slightly out of practice when it comes to exposure converting. This is gonna save me a lot of pain, thanks!
Well I have tried it but it isn't as good as the others make out. I have contacted the App creator but got no reply. I just want to find out what shutter speed to use to get a correct exposure when using ND filters. Sounds easy of course but. I don't want to be doing test shots of 6mins long (as an example) and wasting my life in doing so. I want to then be able to crank up the iso to 1000 and above to get an exposure. I will then put it back to iso 200 and go for the long, and correct exposure. It calculates the exposure wrong if you start to change the iso. Good effort though from the creator but not really good enough
Just wish I'd found this earlier - simple and effective once you understand what it's doing and really useful when using strong ND filters. Those reviewers marking it down because it stops at 9 stops don't understand how it works - look at the equivalent exposure and you'll understand. By default I think it uses a current exposure of 30secs - when you go to +9 stops adjustment this becomes 256 minutes of equivalent exposure! If you went to 10 stops this would be 512 minutes (are you really going to stand there with the camera in Bulb mode for 8 hours?). Once the current exposure is set to something more reasonable (e.g. in most conditions you'd likely be at 1/30th or above) you can then dial in 10 or more stops adjustment (I.e. the app is placing an upper limit on the equivalent exposure of 256 minutes).
This is a great exposure calculator. Simple and straight forward to use. Excellent!
