About TV KILL - Universal IR Remote

This app enables you to turn off any TV with your device's built-in infrared blaster.

Have you ever imagined what it would be like if you could turn off any TV?
With TV KILL, you can!

TV KILL gives you the ability to shut down any TV, no matter where you are.
Simply aim your phone at a TV and press the off-button.
Your phone will then start transmitting a variety of off-signals for different TVs and one of them will turn off the TV in front of you, just like the famous TV-B-Gone remote.

If you activate the repetitive-mode, your phone will transmit the off signals over and over again, even when you close the Application or lock your screen.
This way, you can simply deploy your phone in front of a TV and the TV will turn itself off again whenever somebody tries to switch it on.
(Great for private screening events)

You can also select an off-pattern that only affects devices from a single manufacturer, in case you want to turn-off a TV from a specific brand,

TV KILL also includes a widget for your home screen, so you don't even have to open the app to turn a TV off.

If you should find a TV which the app can't turn off or if you can't turn off ANY TV at all although your device has got a working IR blaster, please contact us and we will see to it that the TV/device is supported in the next TVKILL version.

Used Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 which had emitter on the long edge of the device so had to angle it a little funny or operates app sideways. Not a big deal especially considering it's probably one of the only devices like that. Had to enable additional patterns in settings to work on 2015 Vizio M60

I LOVE IT it works great i have a tv b gone and this is just as good. But there are a few things id like to see in future updates 1. PLEASE move the names in the brands tab a little to the right because currently it looks horrible 2. Add toggle buttons on the repetitive mode so that we can choose 2 or more tvs rather than 1 or all 3. Theres another app similar to this but its horrible but it has a pop out button that allows you to press the off buutton while on other appsnplease ad this. Also I tried out the mute button and it works great on my LG and Sony tvs

I love it, works with most popular brands so far. I wish I can select certain brands in Repetitive mode

works like a charm most of the time for example in bars, cafes, restaurants, airports, shops, basically everywhere there is propaganda or too much noise / a shame that the most new smartphones don't have IR anymore / one reason less to buy a Samsung S8

Works like a charm and looking forward to using it at the next noisy Airport lounge.

Still does not work with htc and android 6 indicating a classic coding timing mistake.

It's unfortunate that most waiting rooms have TVs, but what's worse is some places have policies to only keep things on neutral programming 24/7. This means lots of HGTV and no news, though possibly the weather. I'd rather be alone with my thoughts than see this for several hours of waiting. Today I found this app and gained a peaceful respite from the constant bombardment of noise. I don't care that the shark vacuum works better than a specific model of Dyson, I'd just like peace. Thanks! This helped

5 star if they fix the widget not working most of the time. It's hit and miss right now. Sometimes it works other times it's just a power icon on your screen without a function. Had to delete and replace the widget on he screen to make it work again. Then it would stop working again after some time. Also I hope they put actual controls too. But leave the widget as an on/off button. Would be perfect!

Would have given it 5 stars easily if it had "that little something" extra :) (I'm conservative with my last star in general) but I love this app :)

Had a few hours to kill at an airport, so I went around turning off all the video menu screens at the various fast-food restraints. All of them, that is, except for the salad menu. An hour later, everyone was eating salad.

Do you have a problem your friends or family is watching something annoying or something you Don't like? Well this works great when my sister watches her stupid supernatural shows :D just hide it out of site and view leave phone on and turn on the repetitive mode facing the tv and all your problems will dissappear.also works great on twilight

I was sitting in the Dr's office with an annoying TV. Got a universal remote app. Presto! No more TV . The advertising (tv) system has an automatic reset that turns the tv back on after a few minutes. This app looks for that and turns it back off. The elderly couple next to me keeps saying, "boy that is the craziest thing, their service is worse than ours."

Not sending any Ir from HTC one M7. Peel remote works fine? Any advice please.

This is a simple app that just turns off pretty much every TV within range of the IR Blaster on your phone. It would be great fun in a TV store. The only way to make it better is to add a similar capability for projectors. I could have a lot of fun with this in group meetings.
