Spyware. This app installed without demanding access to my contact list, so I went ahead and installed; but as soon as I went to scan a bar code it demanded I load another app. This new app DID try to get at my contact list. There's no reason it need my contact list to scan codes.

If you expect a clear answer on whether a product contains GMOs go elsewhere. This app is filled with misspellings and fractured English. As an example I recently scanned a gum OCR. The answer I got was "Barcode is not complain with Price Look Up (PLU) format to detect GMO." I tried to scan the barcode from a package of Trader Joe's organic taco shells and received the same result. I also scanned the OCR for a package of dark brown cane sugar (which as far as I can tell is not GMO yet). I received the same message as on virtually every other scan: "Conventionally grown food may contain GMO." Oh and if you wish to scan a round can or product container like an oat package forget it--it will not scan a rounded OCR on a package. Basically a piece of crap. I own the + version and although I paid a little over a buck for it, it is even worse than the free GMO finder.

I scanned everything again after the update and it worked great. Most items reported that "conversionally grown product could contain GMO", had two that were GMO (El Paso refried beans & pictsweet chopped spinach), however the pictsweet seasonal vegetables & Brussel sprouts showed organic along with some other items. Thanks for the quick fix!!!
