Recap is a free student video response and reflection app that lets teachers and parents see how students learn.
Recap offers a secure and practical way to use video in classrooms. It prompts students to respond to in-app assignments on video and stores responses privately in the cloud, giving students, teachers and parents easy access to deep learning insights. Thanks to student Recap responses, teachers get a closer look at students’ individual performance as well as an overview of how each class is doing as a group.
Currently, Recap for Android supports student Recap accounts only. Here is how it works:
1. Using a web browser, teachers create and assign questions to a student, a group of students or the whole class through a web browser.
2. The Recap app prompts students to respond on video. They use the Recap app to record and submit short video responses and quick self-assessments.
3. Teachers watch student responses and leave feedback in a web browser and can choose to share them with the class, parents and other teachers.
Video responses provide evidence of thinking in a natural, conversational format, which supports and strengthens frequent formative assessments to help teachers differentiate and personalize learning more effectively. Recap also serves as a platform for student ePortfolios, which helps students assess their own performance and track progress over time. Thanks to student Recap responses, teachers get a closer look at students’ individual performance as well as an overview of how each class is doing as a group.

I love this app! I'm sharing it with everyone I know! It is a wonderful way to assess my students speaking and listening skills as well as review skills with ease. My students are begging me to "post more recaps." They love answering questions through the app and I gain so much incite by watching them form their answers. If a student doesn't get it I know right away and can even figure out where they need more teaching. Thanks for creating such a great tool.

This thing caused my grade to drop from a perfect 100 to an 80. It was fine for everyone that did it on a computer, but of course, two full weeks later, my response was still 'processing.' I'm too embarrassed to show anyone my grades now! I'm just lucky my teacher is letting me do it again, or I promise you I will... If I could only give it no stars.

The app says an assignment is "Due in: September 17, 2016 08:31". What? That makes no sense. Either say "Due in: x number of hours" or "Due on: September..." It's not that hard to change one or the other, and that makes it all the more annoying. C'mon, get it together.

This is a great app for teachers and professors. My PR class utilized this to record responses of people we surveyed out in public. The only thing is the weird due dates and the lack of options to choose from when setting a due date.

I hate the app. I use this for my ASL classes and for the students it's working great. My problem is the app is only for students, as their teacher I can't use it. I would like to be able to add a video or response from wherever on my phone or my tablet. also would like more choices on the due dates and longer recording time. love the program and it is working great for my students just wish I had more as an educator.
