About How Are You Feeling?

Everybody feels, but everybody also forgets. Whether it's chronic illness or pain, depression or just normal moods, keeping track of how you feel can give you insight into when and why you feel the way you do. And besides, it feels good to tell someone how you feel, even if that someone is your phone.

How Are You Feeling? asks how you're feeling and logs your responses (for example, from "terrible" to "great") so you can refer back later or export the data to a file. When you enter your current feeling, you can also add a note to explain what or why, and you can hide the notes to prevent nosey interlopers from reading them over your shoulder.

If you haven't entered a feeling for a long time (the time is configurable), How Are You Feeling? can notify you to update it. You can also install it as a widget on your home screen, which makes it easy to make entries without opening the app.

I've been using this app for almost four years, and it is probably the single most useful app I've ever had. It's the only one I use constantly and consistently throughout the day. Over that time period I have watched my mood improve and have been able to monitor how it changes during different times of the month. This app is so simple to use. I see a lot of other people asking for other features that would be nice, but I hope the developer does not bog it down too. The only thing I would ask for, that I find extremely important, is some kind of backup feature. I'm able to trade in my phone for a new one this year, and I'm very afraid of losing my years of mood documentation on this app.

by H####:

This has been the best app I've seen. The UI is not modern but it consumes little space. I just wish it was completely free. I'm using this to track my energy levels.

X70%
by X####:

Exactly what I was looking for in a mood journal without any complicated quizzes of difficult to define emotions. A simple scale that can be changed to your liking with colors that make the previous moods easy to navigate and see potential links.

by X####:

As a s/w developer and a world-class complainer, I could find lots of nits to pick, but overall it does what I want. Most importantly, it's not bloated with a bunch of features I don't need.

Track my health good or bad. ... so much better than getting a pen and paper...I love it

X70%

I really like the widget, but I wish there were more options. like changing color scheme, reminders, a way to backup the data, a way to see which days you wrote notes on, maybe some statistics. otherwise very nice but very limited

E70%
by E####:

In lolipop there isn't a menu option to be able to utilize the features like reminders. Overall I like the widget though.

Y70%
by Y####:

Loved this on my HTC but the hourly reminder does not work on my Samsung so this isn't helpful anymore. My mood varies so much during the day that I need to track hourly and have to have the reminder. Still giving 5 stars because I loved it so much before.

Ive been using this for 2 years and then my phone broke. I didn't know how to extract the database so I emailed the developer directly. The *next day* I received a thorough email explaining what to do. Extremely professional. Props dude

Z70%
by Z####:

This app is really useful for tracking my mood swings, but the hourly notification I set up only works about half the time, rendering it pretty useless.

I am using this app as a "feelings log" and it is extremely useful! After many failed attempts trying to track in a notebook, I found this app. My favorite features: 1) the adjustable alert setting so I don't forget. 2) the home screen widget for quick access. 3) ability to customize the buttons so they are exactly what I need! 4) option to export and output is a versatile plain text file that can easily be imported into an excel spreadsheet. I have been using this app for a month now, thank you!

Y70%
by Y####:

This little app is simple and easy to use and showed me exactly what was going on with me, day to day, over weeks and even over months. Thanks!

Y70%
by Y####:

I've been using this app for a little more than four months and honestly this is the farthest I've ever gotten with any diary-like habit.

R70%
by R####:

This is simple and requires no account sign up or any BS. It allows you to record your mood at multiple stages through the day and has personally helped me identify triggers and assess my feelings. It's very very useful.

R70%
by R####:

The latest T-Mobile update killed the menu features so I can no longer enter previous times or dates.

Y70%
by Y####:

Great concept. I need to be able to customize it without having to pay for customization.

Y70%

5* if you can set better reminders

I have used this app for 2 month, I feel satisfied. But I reinstalled my phone recently and LOST ALL the data about my depression. Please add back up!!!! This feature is very important.

C70%
by C####:

I enjoy the app a lot. Straightforward, easy to use, and the widget doesn't take up a lot of room. I just wish there was more room for emotions that don't fall into a good/bad spectrum, like frustration or mixed feelings. I understand why it doesn't have that, but often I feel like my emotions are more complex than "bad/okay/good."

C70%

I would dearly like to be able to see percentages of the time I spend in a certain mood, maybe even the total of minutes, per day, week, month, year, overall. This way I can see which were my best times and which were my worst.. Knowing that would give me the ability to see connections between events, seasons, people and the moods they put me in. This could possibly help me improve my general mood by getting rid of the things that make me unhappy. Also, I would like to mark sleep so that won't be counted.

Just wish I could export my info. in graph form so I could share with my doctor more easily. Five stars for sure, then!

Customizable pain scale, password protect your info, notes area that you can use as a journal, viewing options for at a glance or as a graph. Easily import and export data for safe keeping or to send to your doctor. You can set an alert to remind you to make entries if your tracking by time of day or hours. Its great for identifying trigger areas. Must have app for anyone looking to identify whats going on cuz sometimes you dont realize when things are contributing especially if the pain is really severe.

PLEASE UPDATE THIS TO GET RID OF THE MEMORY LEAK BUG WHICH SLOWS DOWN THE KEYBOARD INPUT AND FREEZES THE APP ON LARGE TEXT INPUT! Otherwise it's really good.

It's a great, simple, minimalist app that does what it's supposed to. My only problem with it is that recently, every so often it just stops notifying me, until I realize it hasn't popped up for hours/days & open the app to check. After that, though, it's fine again for a while.

Would be better if you were able to use multiple button sets at one time - eh a mood scale and pain scale simultaneously
