What are users saying about ReadMe! (Spritz & BeeLine)

by U####:

I was unable to register for an account. It's a total flop. I uninstalled it immediately.

H70%
by H####:

Sync does not work (I have a paid account) and this app is so SLOOOOOOOOOW!

X70%
by X####:

I love being able to read Project Gutenberg classics with the ease and speed of Spritz.

X70%
by X####:

Forced to register and then subscribe.

X70%
by X####:

Does not have speedreader

X70%
by X####:

No longer free.

U70%
by U####:

Requires immediate registration and then after one page of reading, requires you to upgrade to premium.

U70%
by U####:

downloaded it just to use spritz, doesn't work at all.

L70%
by L####:

Tries to forces you to register, then tries to force you into an auto renewing subscription. Complete garbage, super shady. Stay away.

U70%
by U####:

Forced to not only register, but wait for a "confirmation email" before I can even *try it* to see if I'll like it? No thanks. Fbreader still wins...

O70%
by O####:

Was good, and Spritz is nice, unfortunately no longer usable as it constantly interrupts reading to beg the user to buy premium.

X70%
by X####:

After you jump through all the hoops it's just a normal ereader. No sprtiz.

R70%
by R####:

Included features are a moving target. Free version used to include Spritz, and the store page even still says it's included. Now at the end of each page it stops and tells me I have to subscribe. I might consider subscribing if not for the outrageous asking price. I'm not going to pay $60 for an e-reader app, and I'd be surprised if anyone else would either. Reply to developer: I have already moved on (The app called Reedy seems excellent). Not going to pay you every month 10% of what I pay for Netflix for a reading app that does little more than most others, and less than some. Seriously, $60?!? Why not $299? Why stop there? Go up to the price of a nice laptop. Sheesh. You never explained why your app in Spritz mode now insists on premium subscription even when reading online. As I write this, online reading is listed as being included in the free version, yet it isn't. The only reason I can see is greed. This is how you lose users, and once we're gone you're unlikely to get us back.

X70%
by X####:

This was my go to app but now it's literally un-usable

X70%
by X####:

The spritZ is worthless: stuttering and inconsistent speed

X70%
by X####:

A great book reading app once you start reading. The ui is a bit clunky, for instance adding a book requires numerous screens to be visited. Also, the app says there's currently a 50% discount on membership, but when you purchase it through Google play there is no discount.

X70%
by X####:

You can open a book only 5 times until then a payment is REQUIRED. nice......

V70%
by V####:

The lifetime license was worth the money. With Spritz, you can read a book a day. I have used it with both EPUB and PDF and I recommend it. The only improvement I suggest is to phase out the need to copy files to its library folder on the device instead of pointing the file and directory where your files are located; that creates the need to copy files, which defeats the purpose of a memory card. Not a big issue, though. Great app.

J70%
by J####:

It does not work. Not highlighted red font. I could have downloaded any old app for speed reading. I bought a yearly subscription and I have an account. Although when I am logged in I have issues with a limited speed of 450 .. It states in the support option to sign in again !! But won't recognise my login details.. Support service is too slow to respond.

X70%
by X####:

Great app if you love books. Fast access to Public Domain sites, and it's relatively easy to archive your library. Still a few hiccups getting all my books to sync across several devices, though.

X70%
by X####:

I bought this app to speedread offline. Now I have to pay again for a subscription to unlock the feature I already paid for. It is terrible business ethics to 'steal' a feature a customer already paid for and then sell it back again for an even higher price.

J70%
by J####:

I just finished reading my first novel using ReadMe! with Spritz. While I did finish the book faster than I would have otherwise, there were some things lacking. That Spritz does not render bold or italic text takes away some of the nuance intended by the author. This is a feature that I would very much like to see. The reader itself provides only the very basics of an epub reader. A modicum of settings allows for some variation in appearance, but little else. The "library" management is restricted solely to adding or removing books, and searching titles. That the interface immediately gives focus to the search function on startup is an annoyance. I want to like this reader, particularly because of Spritz, but clearly much work has yet to be done.

Z70%
by Z####:

SCAM!!!! The free version needs work and the premium version ($5) won't ever work!!!!!

L70%
by L####:

I'm enjoying the app to read large epub files for work. It handles the information well. It would be great if it could sprtiz web articles

X70%
by X####:

Read about this in a newspaper article, it recommended it for speed reading. After spending a lot of time reading screeds of terms and conditions and information about add-ons whose benefits were unclear to me, and registering, I was finally presented with a test book. I could scroll from page to page, just like in any other book reader. I tried in vain to find some kind of "beginners guide". I tried a "Support" button, but it required a login account, and the one I had just registeted did not work (maybe because I have not paid for an extra service). I found a video that showed some screen operations in a font size that was impossible to read, and played annoying music with no attempt at verbal explanations. It could be that this is a wonderful app for people who stumble upon the secrets of what it does or how to use it. If the screen shown to new users could contain a brief intro to the app instead of trying to sell add-ons, maybe some users would reach the stage where they might want some add-ons.

G70%
by G####:

doesn't work on mobile data, books can't be opened, thus rendering it useless without wifi access.

X70%
by X####:

Why does it need my Facebook or email address to even open the app? Not even worth the time to try it out...

X70%
by X####:

This is rubbish. You have to pay and you cannot open a pdf file for reading!

F70%
by F####:

I never even managed to get to reading. Unnecessary login system doesn't work.

X70%
by X####:

Era muy buena pero con la actualización se interrumpe la lectura en cada cambio de página y te pide adquirir la suscripción. Dejó de ser funcional.

T70%
by T####:

Can you set the apps override tablet from screen off or dim while reading?
