مقدمة
يقول الفقير إلى رحمة الله تعالى، الشيخ الإمام العلامة، جمال الدين، أبو الفرج، عبد الرحمن بن علي بن محمد بن الجوزي، نفعنا الله به، آمين: الحمد لله الذي أمر بالبر، ونهى عن العقوق، وصلاته وسلامه سيدنا محمد الصادق، المصدوق، وعلى آله وأتباعه يوم إستيفاء الحقوق.
أما بعد: فإني رأيت شبيبة من أهل زماننا لا يلتفتون إلى بر الوالدين، ولا يرونه لازما لزوم الدين، يرفعون أصواتهم على الآباء والأمهات، وكأنهم لا يعتقدون طاعتهم من الواجبات، ويقطعون الأرحام التي أمر الله سبحانه بوصلها في الذكر، ونهى عن قطعها بأبلغ الزجر، وربما قابلوها بالهجر والجهر، وقد أعرضوا عن مواساة الفقراء مما يرزقون، وكأنهم لا يصدقون بثواب ما يتصدقون، قد التفتوا بالكلية عن فعل المعروف، كأنه في الشرع، والعقل ليس بمعروف. وكل هذه الأشياء تحث عليها المعقولات، وتبالغ في ذكر ثوابها وعقابها المنقولات.
فرأيت أن أجمع كتابا في هذه الفنون من اللوازم، ليتنبه الغافل، ويتذكر الحازم، وقد رتبته فصولا وأبوابا، والله الموفق لما يكون صوابا.

عن بر الوالدين
عن عائشة أم المؤمنين رضي الله عنه قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
( دخلت الجنة فسمعت فيها قراءة قلت من هذا ؟ فقالوا : حارثة بن النعمان ) فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ( كذلكم البر كذلكم البر [ وكان أبر الناس بأمه ] ) (1)

من روائع هذا الدين تمجيده للبر حتى صار يعرف به ، فحقا إن الإسلام دين البر الذي بلغ من شغفه به أن هون على أبنائه كل صعب في سبيل ارتقاء قمته العالية ، فصارت في رحابه أجسادهم كأنها في علو من الأرض وقلوبهم معلقة بالسماء
وأعظم البر ( بر الوالدين ) الذي لو استغرق المؤمن عمره كله في تحصيله لكان أفضل من جهاد النفل ، الأمر الذي أحرج أدعياء القيم والأخلاق في دول الغرب ، فجعلوا له يوما واحدا في العام يردون فيه بعض الجميل للأبوة المهملة ، بعدما أعياهم أن يكون من الفرد منهم بمنزلة الدم والنخاع كما عند المسلم الصادق
وبالوالدين إحسانا
قال تعالى : ( وإذ أخذنا ميثاق بني إسرائيل لا تعبدون إلا الله وبالوالدين إحسانا ) البقرة 83 والإحسان نهاية البر , فيدخل فيه جميع ما يحب من الرعاية والعناية , وقد أكد الله الأمر بإكرام الوالدين حتى قرن تعالى الأمر بالإحسان إليهما بعبادته التي هي توحيده والبراءة عن الشرك اهتماما به وتعظيما له (2) وقال تعالى ( واعبدوا الله ولا تشركوا به شيئا وبالوالدين إحسانا ) النساء 36 فأوصى سبحانه بالإحسان إلى الوالدين إثر تصدير ما يتعلق بحقوق الله عز وجل التي هي آكد الحقوق وأعظمها تنبيها على جلالة شأن الوالدين بنظمهما في سلكها بقوله ( وبالوالدين إحسانا ) وقد كثرت مواقع هذا النظم في التنزيل العزيز كقوله تعالى ( وقضى ربك ألا تعبدوا إلا إياه وبالوالدين إحسانا إما يبلغن عندك الكبر أحدهما أو كلاهما فلا تقل لهما أف ولا تنهرهما وقل لهما قولا كريما واخفض لهما جناح الذل من الرحمة وقل رب ارحمهما كما ربياني صغيرا )الإسراء 23- 24
غير خاف على عاقل حق المنعم، ولا منعم بعد الحق تعالى على العبد كالوالدين، فقد تحملت الأم بحمله أثقالا كثيرة، ولقيت وقت وضعه مزعجات مثيرة، وبالغت في تربيته، وسهرت في مداراته، وأعرضت عن جميع شهواتها، وقدمته على نفسها في كل حال.
وقد ضم الأب إلى التسبب في إيجاده محبته بعد وجوده، وشفقته، وتربيته بالكسب له والإنفاق عليه. The book: honoring one's parents
