WAFB Local News for Android
I probably don't know how to use it correctly and when my home was flooding last week I was very frustrated attempting to get information, and being stopped. I don't understand why I can't just press view and get news and weather without having to go to something else. When you believe you are having an emergency what use is this app if you have to go to all kinds of other places.
Full of adware to the point your app constantly crashes, no matter how many updates you are bombarded with unwanted ads that pop up and take up the entire app. No spell check or any grammar on articles. Not even worth being a free app
I'm just installing and the install insisted irate it. Very strange in my opinion. Need time to use it before rating.
Stop with the plastic surgery ads, so annoying
It is a good app
installed on my android tv box. it plays the ads flawlessly, but after what looks like 6-7 buffering episodes, it quits with a failure to load video error. so it works for only seconds between buffering. i have 50 mbps internet speed, and the WBRZ app works just fine. Please fix it because I'd rather watch WAFB.
Everything has a 30sec commercial. Very aggrevating. The comm buffer easier also. Takes 1 min to watch 30 sec clip
PLEASE FIX THE POP UPS EVERY 30 SECONDS. AGGRAVATING. MAY UNINSTALL APP
Nothing but malicious pop up ads.
Constantly new ads boring horrible app
I like it
It's OK
Trusted
I love it
Very good app w/curious update. The latest update gives absolutely no reason/rationale/excuse for the update, even after tapping "Read More". Would give 5 stars if it weren't for this dubious update. 07/07/17 Update: Rather than have the above-referenced gaebage update in my Android Playstore, I added WAFB's mobile friendly website to my smartphone to my smartphone's screen and delete the app as soon as I finish this update.
Love this app..I still can get the news even when. I'm at work...Great app!!
I can't download the app
The news I can truly trust!
It's ok
Great App
Good app for news but alerts are not used right by WAFB. There are many categories that you can subscribe to but they don't use them when sending. I only subscribe to"breaking news" which still contains restaurant reviews, weekend festivities, and other non urgent matters. Why have subscription categories if they're not going to be used?
If it didn't have as many ads, I probably would give it 5 stars!! If the alert that came up notifying me of a top story, would actually work... That'd be great
Good for updates except you have to wait at least an hour to click on them for the story to be uploaded to actually read them. Also turn off the traffic updates. With this being Baton Rouge those will kill your battery within the first hour.
Occasional glitches, but generally very helpful. It would be nice if the app would open to the article when a notification is selected rather than the home page. (When I back out of the app the article opens in the browser, which works.)
Why does there have to be a 1 inch tall by 6 inch wide "blinking" advertisement at the bottom of the main screen? That is beyond annoying, not conducive to reading, and not worth keeping this app for WAFB.
Works at times. Times out. Hangs up. Needs work.
I like how I can change what alerts send to my phone because there's a heck of a lot. Not a bad app, I use it primarily for the weather along with WAFB FX
Lived in the Baton Rouge are for 12 years, I still like to know what's happening in the city that is my adopted home town. This app allows me to stay informed as to what's going on.
As a student, I really like having access to local news on the go. One thing I have learned (and many others mention in their reviews) is that when you click on a push notification, it brings you to the top news on the app and not the respective story. What you have to learn is that it DOES bring you to the story, but it opens it in your Internet browser not the app. I'm not sure if it's the case for everyone, but that's what happens on my GS7 with Android 6.0.
Update: currently does not work at all with Android 7.0. Top local news, but the app itself sucks. Half the time it just sits there loading and never gets data. This is very annoying.
Keeps me up to date, especially since I don't have time to catch the broadcast on tv... only issue is that when a notification comes across phone the story isn't always ready to view.
Ramirez family 1 ederly of 76 years young with Parkinson's disease, 2 adults , 4 children ages 9.7.4 and 6 months evacuated from our home at the corner of Avis Ave. and Leonard in Baton Rouge La ..Thanks for the weather updates n alerts
When I click on a notification it does not take me to the story to which the headline relates; rather I get to the "Top News" page with a list of unrelated headlines. I'd like it to take me to the story I clicked on.
People has no time for ridiculous comercials time for every single video. Uninstall
Without having to be near a television or computer, I can get breaking news and headlines in real time.
When you select the notification it does not take you to that particular article. What's the point of push notifications if you can't go directly to the article you're interested in?
I love this app, but why send news alerts, open them, then they are not anywhere to be found on the site. I've called WAFB, emailed, etc, but they won't fix. Get it fixed and I will give 5 stars!
Some quirks like having to open another link to read on mobile device need to be addresses.
This app keeps me informed of the traffic, weather and news around the clock.

Quiet hours are not respected, and there is no option to turn notifications to vibrate or silent - extremely frustrating to still get noisy notifications late at night.
