OK, poetry and marketing blab aside, the stark truth about this app is that it is just a giant experiment, in which you, the potential user, are invited to become a guinea pig. So... welcome! :)

As I release the first update after the initial release (version 1.1), it is exciting to already see a good number of ratings start to show up all over the world! Thank you very much, early adopters! :) Still, on a local scale, unless you have an avid rater in your particular area, this app might not be very useful yet as there may be no data for your area. In that case, its only appeal is to your inflated ego, as YOU can tell the world just what YOU think of a particular place. ;) Over time, as you tell your friends just how cool this app is (hint, hint!) and it becomes wildly popular (haha), your important opinions will unfortunately become diluted by the inane opinions of the rest of humanity and this app may lose most of its appeal to you...

On the upside, that's when it may become useful to those who value the opinions of others as they try to decide where to eat, which beach to hang out at, which trail to pick for a hike, which store to shop at, etc. Whenever there's a need to choose "a place", this app may help out.

How fast we get to that point is up to you, dear user... so please start rating! Use it for anything you have an opinion on. Go ahead and color your neighbors' eyesore of a junk yard red. The service at the fancy restaurant you're eating at is so-so? Aim the cross hairs and put a big ol' yellow spot on their roof. You're hiking and found a spot with an awesome view that's a little ways off the beaten path? Let others know and stick a nice green spot on it!

The app itself is tiny, and simplicity itself. You get a map, you can tap on it to pick a place (or let the GPS do it for you, if you're rating the place where you are at the moment), and push one of the three buttons to give your opinion. Done! Easy and quick rating, right then and there, that's what it's all about. Enjoy!

Permissions are requested for location (GPS and network based), and to access the Internet for map and rating data.
