The Blockidex by Minecraft University is a portable Block and Item Guide for Minecraft PC version 1.8.3, and also unofficially supports most information from Minecraft PE. This application provides important information about Blocks and Items such as item spawn commands, required tools, flammability, and explosion resistances.
How Blockidex differs from other Minecraft Guides
This App seamlessly integrates with the Minecraft University website (http://www.minecraftuniversity.com), and includes simplified versions of some of the unique tools we have developed for our platform such as:
-View Items/Blocks with similar appearances or functions to what you are viewing
-Integration of short and amusing 'How-to' Youtube video guides for relevant content.
-Loot dropped when a Block is broken or mined
-Thaumcraft 4 (Minecraft Mod) Aspects
-Item Smelting Information
-Furnace Fuel Values
-Block/Item Colors, with links to find Blocks with similar colors for building projects.
-Damage/Armor Values, Hunger, Light Values, and Status Effects on Items that use them.
This is the first test release of Blockidex. If this App is popular, we plan to integrate many new features into this interactive guide as we build our platform!
Future Plans (not present in App yet)
-Bookmark favorite Blocks or Items to come back to easily later.
-More videos as we grow our Youtube channel!
-Optional integration of Minecraft Mods that we have supported on our website.
-Community Content; Ask questions about specific Blocks and Items, get building ideas for a particular block.

I really like the simplicity of the Blockidex even though it packs a lot of information on to the page. It isn't the prettiest UI, but I'll give it a pass for being very responsive and including a tonne of information you usually have to look up on a Wiki. Some important information is missing, like I would really like to see recipes included, and maybe mod blocks as well. Looking forward to seeing how this App grows!
