What are users saying about Prime Dice

by B####:

Used it for hours and hours instead of normal dice, did its job nicely. I'd recommend it to anyone. No crashes, not too annoying ads, nice performance. Made my D&D life a lot easier, since it's hard to find full pairs of dice for every player. One of the few 5/5 ratings I've ever given.

U70%
by U####:

Works exactly how I want it to. I don't know about some of the deeper mechanics, but I'm sure those work too. [Update: no longer runs on my Galaxy 7. Crashes as soon as I try to start it.]

U70%
by U####:

A pretty good physical roller. One thing that's really handy is that you can take a picture of the spell/attack and set it as the table background. I do wish there were a feature that let you add fixed bonuses/penalties though. And and option to add totals separately (so that the d20 for accuracy and the d8 for damage don't both add to one meaningless total).

by J####:

Apparently the dev has stopped working on this to give it support with newer devices. I bought this back when there was two different versions I loved it and bought the pro version no I can no longer access that not that it would matter when it can't even stop up without immediately crashing. Its a shame I think it's the best overall dice app however if the devs don't keep up with it that doesn't matter anymore

This app used to work. My phone is a Nexus 6p. Now when I try to use it, I get an error message that says "prime dice has stopped". Seriously? One system update and it won't work?

Despite not having been updated for over 3 years now, Prime Dice still ranks among the top dice apps for Android. It allows a huge amount of customizability in looks, type, and number of dice. A great job by the developer, and well worth paying for the Pro version for those who want the advanced features.

I liked this so much I bought the pro version a year ago, now it has disappeared off of my phone and all I can find in the play store is this free version with an option to buy the pro version again. I got my last phone out of the drawer and powered it up, the pro version is there but when I clicked 'leave a review' it comes up item not found. Cheers devs, nice app but you're not getting any more money from me.

Very nice app! Only negative thing I can think of is the difficulty of using the context menu in the Add Dice screen e.g. the "drop n-lowest dice" feature. That functionality should be easily available from the desktop screen. Other than that, perfect dice app!

C70%
by C####:

Bought the purchased Pro version ages ago. Really liked it. Only fault I found was that the scroll bar in dice setup screen was too thin and hard to see. I got a Note 7 and now it's no good. Bugs out at start. Also my purchased Pro version is nowhere to be seen. So I can't attempt to set it up. So app seems OK for an old version of Android.

by C####:

App crashes when I touch it. Won't even start up anymore. I used to love this app, and would spend time actually just rolling the dice simply because I I enjoyed seeing them fly. Until this app is repaired and will run, I will not give a better score even though it USED to deserve it.

From a Samsung S7 Edge user. Crashes every time I start the app, PLUS I previously bought the "Pro" version. When I upgraded my phone to the S7 Edge I naturally looked for the Pro version to download. It's not around anymore, just the Free version which means, apparently, that I have to buy a Pro version TWICE .. IF the free version will ever work with the S7 Edge that is. I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE this app. Now it's useless to me. Very very disappointing. Total crash and burn as far as I'm concerned

G70%
by G####:

I spent a long time looking for a dice simulation like this one. I'm glad to have found one that works so well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the controls for changing dice can be a little clunky. All in all this is a fantastic app.

M70%
by M####:

I had bought the pro version before after trying the free version here. However it seems that has disappeared from the store meaning I need to buy again through the app which is unfair on users who purchased before. This could be more than a few nails in the coffin of what is a good app. Hence the middle mark score.

A70%
by A####:

Do NOT support this app! Developer uses deceitful "bait and switch" tactics. Originally I purchased the full version of this app and had all the dice I needed. Then this upgrade came and made the full version an in-app only purchase. Now I have ads and can't even select a D12 or D20 without paying for it all over again. Shame on the developers!

by C####:

I like this app the best of the various dice apps I have tried. However I cannot access the modifications menu. My tablet does not have a "menu" button and I am unable to bring it up from the bottom no matter how many times I attempt it. If I could get to this easily, I would consider getting the pro version. I did finally get to the modifications menu. All that I had to do was go into landscape mode to have them. But some of the options aren't labeled very well so it's hard to determine what they do without some trial and error. Also the link to the pro version inside the app doesn't work. Apparently there is no pro version currently available. This isn't a bad app, a few flaws. And it's the better things I've found that were close to Dicenomicon for the iPhone.

I have to say, I probably enjoyed using this more than I should have. Pretty awesome. It'd be pretty cool if you could set dice formulae (this specific d6 minus that d4 plus 5 or something), but that programming is likely orders of magnitude more difficult. Keep it up, though!

Black screen and that's all on HTC One m9 running marshmallow. Great app. I used it for a long time on my old phone, but it hasn't ever run on my new one. 5 stars and I'll buy the full version when it does.

G70%

The dice rolls seem random enough to appease the most scrutinizing of GM's I've played with. The biggest problem I find with it, is that the "table" only seems it has a one inch clearance, so the dice don't get high enough on the rolls. I've had dice get stuck and cause a problem, and kind of esthetics thing for me :s but again, over all good dice app ^.^

Though not THE prettiest dice app (an award I'd give to Diceshaker D&D), this one has great functionality, and probably ranks as my favorite dice app overall. The interface is clean and easy to use, the dice are relatively flexible in terms of customizability (and even include FUDGE/Fate dice!), and it runs well and looks nice. I'd happily buy the full version to get more complex customizable dice... if the function to do so even worked, which is pretty frustrating. I WANT to throw some money the author's way and I can't! I can't quite justify five stars with this major oversight in maintenance. Still, the free version is quite solid.

C70%
by C####:

Droid Turbo 2 can't scroll through the dice. I also found the interface very unintuitive. The add dice function would be better as a click, add number or a flexible formula ie x rolls of (y)d(z) dice

Z70%
by Z####:

Adding and/or changing dice is difficult, and the banner at the bottom of the screen is constantly flashing nonsense and is annoying. 2 minutes of this app was more than enough for a lifetime.

S70%
by S####:

Getting annoyed at the constant large adverts. I had Pro but now it's gone and I can't even buy it again when I press on the in app link. Getting close to an uninstall which will be a shame because it's a good app otherwise

M70%
by M####:

Does a great job of animating the rolling of dice. The GUI controls at the bottom can be a nuisance at times, esp when dice stray too close there and you want to drag the dice elsewhere. Could also use fancier dice skins, like Chessex's Vortex line. Overall, very satisfied with this, and it's my go-to app for rolling dice for D&D, Dragon AGE, and FATE RPG. ^_^

Bought PRO version a while ago, but had phone reset after a recent repair. Now there is no PRO version and it can't be found on Play Store. I can't make custom dice and can't let my son play with app due to ad banner. Very disappointed as was useful app.

Forgot my dice for D&D so I downloaded this. Definitely the best looking app here. 2 hours later my phone is dead. Drains waaaaay too much battery. I like good flat rolls, but this is ridiculous! :/

C70%

Still Crashes on start up, a special thanks to the creative jerks at primedice for still not fixing this 2 year old problem. I'm reporting you to Google for using deceitful methods and stealing peoples money. You give the good apps a bad Name and you disgusting pigs have the audacity to keep a non-functioning app on the play store? You disgust me!!!

This dice app is aesthetically superior and doesn't have any really irritating glitches. It's an excellent place to start looking if you want to use your Android unit to replace your meat space dice. (Although, those of us living in Vegas can get you a bulk deal on the latter if you prefer. We know a guy.)

Y70%

I love it. It is little disappointing that only the Euro, and "1&2" coins are available, but it serves is purpose. I find that just double taping once does not adequately roll the dice, so I shake it well, or tap on the screen like a madman.

This app WAS awesome. I paid 3 or 4 dollars for the pro version it worked for a while and then it was discontinued. Thanks for stealing my money. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP.

Easily the best app of its kind I've tried. Only real problem is the fact that I can't buy the premium version to get rid of the ads and get those sweet custom dice.

It does its job quite well, even if it could use some fine tuning, but it seems to be the best physics based dice randomizer available.

I would give it 5 stars except the banner at the bottom edge makes it impossible to see the dice sometimes and to add and remove. Please do something about it.

This is a perfectly competent app. It has all the features you could want: customizable backgrounds and dice sets, and the ability to save multiple sets for quick use. This is great for use during gameplay. The UI for adjusting dice sets is a little clunky, but the app compensates by letting you save plenty of loadouts. Unfortunately it does not compensate for the inconvenient ads which partially BLOCK certain buttons and make changing your dice even more of a hassle. Move the ad bar=5 stars.

A70%

This is what I need since some of the dice I don't have. I always recommend this app to my pals in RPG club, and I use it for D&D and Star Wars RPG (which is just D&D for Star Wars fans). Well made and designed, it makes me feel like I really am using dice with the great physics. However, one criticism: the ad on the bottom is a real pain often. If you remove it, I'll be glad to up this to 5 stars.

This is a really nice dice rolling app. I've tried 10 and this the best by far. Best look. Best feel. Tap or shake to roll is great. The dice look awesome. There are two issues. The scroll bar for selecting the dice is very small and hard to use. If you could scroll the dice pictures rather than the tiny black bar underneath it would be better. It is also a battery hog if left open. With a full charge I can't get more than 4-5 hours out of it. So it does work for long gaming sessions.
