Easy to setup and connect to wifi network. Also easy to run with preprogrammed or setup your own custom programs for each zone. Only complaint was I wish it had a seeding or sod program for establishing new lawns instead of having to use the manual option.

1st Gen device- connectivity issues via wifi, forget about using your mobile device to communicate or control the rain machine. As soon as your screen turns off or even flips from portrait to landscape, the connection with rainmachine severs and you won't be able to reconnect

I am having the same issues that others have mentioned. Recently, being able to connect from my mobile device is sporadic - at best. This problem started over the past few weeks. I will say that I performed a requested firmware update last week. I've not noticed any problems connecting to my device from my phone prior to that. I am constantly getting "connection to the device was lost" messages. Retrying fails instantly. Reinstalled app. Rebooted phone. Issue remains. Also: I did a quick test using the Beta version. I tested for a short amount of time. No issues during that time. I uninstalled the Beta to reinstall the production app to see if the issues return. I'll update the review later to reflect additional testing.

Great app and technology. However, along the way in one of the updates it changed how it reports the watering history. It shows gallons saved instead of watering duration. Why not show both? I'm more interested in if things got watered or not, and for how long. I don't know how many gallons everything needs to grow. Please consider adding duration back to the history.

I love the app but one issue on android 7 samsung s8 it doesnt show me amount watered in watered history anymore. It did on my older s6 and works fine on wifes iphone wkth latest ios. Fix please!

Excellent app. No issues. Nice interface. Last update fixed missing watering history. (Android Samsung S6).

Used to be good, but since they stopped supporting the first gen device, I've noticed a bunch of bugs and the app is painfully slow (if it even connects at all).

Excellent app. Works well whether I am on my local network or remote. Would love to be able to see the weather data on the app like you can on the web knterface.

I've never installed or tested a sprinkler timer with less effort. What a smart device. The pics of each zone are a nice plus.

Use to be an oustanding system, but the new app is full of bugs, it has probems connecting and hangs up At times it says there is no unit install on an at home fiber network. Unit is good, App is bad!

The best app and machine you could ask for. I saved 60%on watering last year and my lawn never looked so good. I was amazed how easy it winds and how effective it is.

Crashes after it starts downloading data from device

Disconnected old controller and setup new controller in 20 min. Love app and Web Access interfaces. Would recommend

Why does this app need access to my phone's camera now

Installed device in 15 minutes. Input email for remote access, confirmed, and set programs. Now I don't worry about over watering and I am saving water and money. Works remotely, simple to manage. (Although not much to manage :)) features added are making it even better!! Still love it.

This app had so many glitches. Now the update needs access to my my photos, WiFi location and more. I won't update because you don't need access to my camera and photos. Love device not app

App and system works great. Only thing I wish was possible was the ability to copy and paste a schedule. It would make creating schedules similar to others much easier.

Had a few ups and downs but the support group got everything up and running like it should thanks again

The controller and app have saved me significant amounts of water, and that it important here in California.

Love the dynamic adjustment of water times based on water need. The app lets me control the who system. Super useful for fixing sprinklers as I can adjust them or yest them while I am out in the yard without having to walk back and forth to the sprinkler controller.

No demo ability, even though developers say it's there

This app gives you the ability to access your Rain Machine Controller. You can view watering history, make changes to zones, water on demand and do it all through your phone. Plus you can customize your zones with custom names. They could improve the programs screen on the Rain Machine by having the zone number

Will we ever get a way to group programs (folders or ability to re-order)?? Even with just 3 zones and different seasonal schedules, the programs page becomes cluttered and difficult to sort through. Please add the ability to group and re-order programs! It would be great to pick spring, summer, winter or fall and switch to schedules in that group.

App works on first load and then can no longer connect. You must clear the app from running programs in order for it to work again. Been like this since they redesigned it last year. Prior to that it worked fine. Similar issues with the web version indicate software is not their forte. Buy a different model.

I like this app a lot but the Freeze Protect doesn't work at all. Whenever I set it it defaults to 113 degrees. Not good especially in these cold months.

I've stuck with it, but it had been very slow for a while. Difficult to get anything done since it takes sooooo long to download the information. Also don't rotate your phone because it starts downloading again. I also can't turn the weather data off for over seeding watering. I have to manual water every day.

Better access service technicians needed

Can't turn a Program's weather data on or off from mobile device; rainmachine says that they are aware of the issue, but no change in last update. The desktop interface is very bad.

Easy to use and setup with flexibility in watering options and zones. So worth the cost of the device. Saves time and makes my life so much easier than using my old watering controller. As the days get longer and the outside side temperature rises so does my need to adjust watering times. This will definitely save me time and money.

While on WiFi it connects and works great but it you disconnect and go to LTE it is very slow and to the point that I just close the app.

I bought a rain machine Mini 8. Down loaded the app "RainMachine" on my LG G3 It could not connect. Tried it on my wife's phone Samsung S6, same thing it could not connect. We also have a Samsung tablet. With the tablet it connected and I did program the system. The app is very buggy, you would think that the Samsung S6 is almost a new phone, it would connect with their app, but no. I would like to know what phone did the company use to program their app, for us to use? The tablet is almost 4 years old. So 1 out of 3 tries
