Nothing but errors, timeouts, unresponsive data and disconnects! What is so difficult???? Don't even try this and avoid frustration! Interface is OK but app doesn't work for crap! I had over a hundred kilowatt hours for one day being reported. Don't trust this app.

The idea of the app is great. I would like to not have to always log into the web site to check my usage stats. Unfortunately the current usage 'Guage' is only thing that seems to provide useful information. The history graphs only seem to show the total energy delivered from the grid. I have solar panels and during the times that my usage goes negative, the graphs show my usage as zero instead of showing it as negative in the 'day' graph even though it has room for showing the negative 'usage' and the week and month views only show the total energy drawn from the grid instead of showing the overall net usage. In order to see my net consumption I still have to go to the web site.

Works great, remotely and locally only issue i have is history data doesn't load sometimes but that could just be the internet connection at times. Just a sugestion for solar users it would be great to estimate Feed in Tarrif eg if meter is reading -2.2kw (in the negative) it can work of a separate cost per kw for what we get back exporting to the grid eg in aus a lousy 5c per kw. Also cant wait to see control of other zigbee devices all my lights are able to be controlled. The Eagle just works and works well..

Changed my rating from 3 to 1 star. This thing hasn't worked for months. Rainforest should be ashamed! They collected money from customers and B.C. Hydro, then vanished.

App works fine for me. Would be nice to get 15 minute historical data also. Version 1.3.1 - year history has two Augusts in it. Several weeks later it has two Decembers.

D70%
by D####:

The app seems to work fine bit does not properly reflect negative use when my solar production exceeds my use. Oddly the device reflects these numbers just fine. But not the app.

D70%
by D####:

Its pretty good. Needs some updating to make the UI more attractive, but the data is all there that you really need. The app needs a current hourly demand chart. Hopefully more updates are on the way.

My head is sore from beating it on the desk out of pure frustration!!! I lost 2hrs that I'll never see again

With Bidgley closing I was hoping to find a full featured replacement. This is not it. Wattvision looks promising but there's no mobile app.

It used to work well..now the history issues not work with msgs like "not enough data to display this graph....very disappointed

If it even worked #fail

Works great now. Tech support was a great help. I wished the daily usage meter would update faster.

Cannot connect, no cloudID. Does not work for Rainforest Automation meter.

Stopped working

D70%

Old app allowed me to specify the IP of the device and worked without issue. The new version requires a cloud account or to be on the same wireless network for a local login. I don't want / need a cloud account and I can no longer connect to my device using this app unless its on the same subnet as my phone which I refuse to do for security reasons. At least let customers specify the IP like you used to.. This is crap now.

Meter view doesn't match Web view. History blank or jumbled. Love the Eagle I just use other apps to read it.

D70%

History information doesn't display at all. I removed the rainforest eagle device and had my utility company add it back in and it still doesn't show historical data only current data.

D70%

Old version required internal ip address.new version requires login that is not explained why. Apps arr meant to be simple to use...just saying...

Worked great before the update now I have to input the install code each time and the history is inaccurate by about 10kw, please fix this works fine from computer just not my s5

Very chunky I can't get daily or weekly usage

D70%

Simply doesn't work. Cant access the device with either local or remote login. No link to support on Web page. Give me my money back for the smart meter. Complete garbage and no support that I can find

V70%
by V####:

Incorrectly displays negative usage due to solar, despite months of reporting problems to developers.

S70%

Constantly disconnected. Recovery is a pain. Not worth the price.

O70%

New update allows remote usage monitoring (connect on data network or home wifi). Gives you both options. Works well.

D70%
by D####:

You cannot tap into your device from outside your home wireless network. It keeps shutting down and then you lose any stored historical data. Quite a useless device so far. I hope they update it to remote access and better more reliable historical usage.

D70%
by D####:

No cloud

D70%
by D####:

The app currently only allows local connections, so only works on home WiFi network, at which point I'd rather just use the Web browser and not have another app installed. Would be much better if it was cloud enabled like the apple app.

I gave this app 3 stars. The pros are that it works pretty much as claimed. You can view your power usage near real time within your own WiFi network. And you can view usage graphs broken down into day, week, month, and year. However the cons outweigh the pros. Anyone who is used to modern Android or iOS apps will be disappointed. The feature set is poor. Things that could be improved include the ability to use this app over your cellular network (you have to use their cloud partners and others apps for that). Inability to have your usage graphs in anything but portrait mode (no landscape). This shortcoming makes viewing the graphs difficult. No Fastpoll feature like the web browser has. Inability to set the scale for the half circle graph. I could go on, but I think I've said enough.

Glad to be a beta tester, login page doesn't work with Dolphin browser, some hardware is flawed (including mine) and has to be fixed. Might get to try the app when I get my hardware replaced.

D70%
by D####:

App provides good data, however UI is really bad, and surprisingly authentication is not even part of the app

D70%
by D####:

It worked right out of the box but next month stop showing the cost.

D70%
by D####:

It does work but one star for laziness and dumbing down the app! OK maybe 1 star is a little harsh but SERIOUSLY the mobile app should get equal development, if not higher priority, than the web interface! - Only local network access, no cloud. Think about it guys! Its a MOBILE device app THAT ONLY WORKS AT HOME! DOH! - App only displays to 10 watt accuracy but web to 1 watt. Why? - No meter reading in app - No Fast Poll button WHATS THE POINT OF INSTALLING AN APP THAT DOES LESS THAN THE WEB INTERFACE? I ALREADY HAVE ACCESS VIA A BROWSER ON MY PHONE SO????! Bottom line: Unless you have access to ONLY your local network, and no internet access just use web interface via cloud in your browser and put this unnecessary app in the trash.

D70%
by D####:

It's not rocket science but it helps me manage power consumption. The real credit goes to digital hydro meters. This tool makes it easier to record daily power consumpion

D70%
by D####:

Slow to connect, provides basic information. Would love to be able to see my meter reading like I can on the web

U70%
by U####:

First try it connected for 10 seconds then disconnected and said offline. Even a remote connection would not work. I don't have time for this crap that doesn't work.

F70%
by F####:

It is a good base product, with a very basic and very unreliable app. They could very easily do so much more, but just seem to be happy to make a very basic product. I would look elsewhere if you want a professional product.

Q70%
by Q####:

The app works as advertised, but if you're serious about energy management, you will need to connect to a cloud service. Too bad, since Rainforest could have made this product a one stop shopping opportunity.

Cloud setup not possible through the app.
