Surah Al-Jinn

Sūrat al-Jinn (سورة الجن, "The Jin") is sura 72 of the Holy Quran with 28 verses. The name and topic of this chapter is the genie. Similar to angels, jinn are spiritual beings invisible to the human naked eye. In the Qur'an, it is stated that man was created from earth and jinn from fire in more than one instance.

In the second verse the jinn resign their belief in the false god and glorify Muhammad over his monotheism. Jinn apologizes for their past blasphemies and criticizes mankind for ignoring them or encouraging their unbelief. Verses 20-22 are very important because Monotheism (tawhid) among the jinn is reaffirmed and the inevitable wrath of God is emphasized. Judgment in verse 7, and Punishment in verse 25, are both references to the Day of Judgment of Islam, Yaum al Qiyamah. Verses 25-28 specify that Qiyamah is known only to God, and that God takes into account all human actions while judging him.
