Surah Al-Fatiha

Surah Al Fatiha (سورة الفاتحة) is the first Surah of the Qur'an. The seven verses (verses) are prayers for God's guidance, divinity and grace. This Surah has an important role in Islamic prayer. The main literal meaning of the phrase "al-Fātiḥah" is "Opening," which may refer to this Surah as the "opening of the Book" (Fâtiḥat al-kitāb), which became the first sura that is recited in every cycle (rak'ah) prayer, or In a way in which it serves as an opening for many functions in everyday Islamic life.

Al-Fātiḥah is often believed to be the synthesis of the Qur'an. That in itself is a prayer at the beginning of the Qur'an, which acts as a preface to the Qur'an and implies that this book is for the one who is a seeker of truth - the reader who asks the god who is the only one Eligible for all praise (and is the creator, owner, sustainer of the world etc. ) To guide him into a straight path.

Different names of Surah Al-Fatihah

1. Surah al-Fatihah is Umm ul-Quran / Book (Mother of Quran / Book): As Abu Hurairah (R.A) narrated from Prophet Muhammad


2. Sab'ul-Mathani (The Seven Signs Again Repeating): It is also called because the seven verses are regularly recited at the beginning of every prayer rakaah.

3. Al-Hamd (Praise to Allah): It is also called Al-Hamd, Commendation, because it contains the Adoration of Almighty God.

4. As-False (Prayer): Named as Entreaty because the reading is a requirement for the daily prayer legality.

5. Ash-Shifa (The Cure): Abu Sa'id reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "The Book Opening is a cure for every poison." (Ad-Darimi)

6. Ar-Ruqyah (Spiritual Medication): Abu Sa'id reported that after he recited it to heal someone who had been bitten by a scorpion, the Messenger of Allah asked him, "... and what makes you know That it is ruqya." (Bukhari ). That is why it is highly recommended to read Surah Fatiha and for the sick.

7. The principle of the Qur'an (Basic Quran): Known by this name as Surah Fatiha contains the most important fundamental Islamic teachings, namely the admiration of One Allah SWT.
