About WADR
Discover and download the application which allows to listen to live West Africa Democracy Radio ( WADR), to follow the news published since the Web site and to listen to podcasts while being notified as soon as an important information is published in French and in English.
The WADR was setting up by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa ( OSIWA) in 2005 for:
• Promote and defend the ideals of democratic societies and opened in and between the countries of the West-African sub-region;
• Militate for a mutual understanding, the respect between the individuals and the communities, and promote the peace and the human safety, the transparency and the rendering of accounts in the governance, the regional economic integration, and the social and cultural development for the peoples of the region;
• Serve as forum for the expression of points of view to facilitate the understanding between the populations and between the governments and their citizens;
• Promote the concept of use of the radio as the educational tool and participation of communities, and favor higher standards of broadcasting in western Africa.
The siege of the WADR is in Dakar (Senegal) and covers the West-African sub-region through a network of partner radios.
