India - Plantations Labour Act, 1951

In 1951, the Indian Parliament passed the Plantations Labour Act which sought to provide for the welfare of labour and to regulate the conditions of workers in plantations. Under this law, the State Governments have been empowered to take all feasible steps to improve the lot of the plantation workers.
