This is a ripoff. They double the rate if you extend the time, which is unethical. Plus, you have to remeber the zone # if you want to extend the time because the app does not auto save it. It is better and waaaay cheaper to use the kiosk. I you want to use the app and extend the time, it is better and CHEAPER for you to park in one of the public parking lots. At least their rates are clear and not deceptive. This app and service is a piece of crap. Oh one more thing, customer service is one of the worst.
I give it 2 stars because it's a great idea and can be very convenient... when it works. And that's the problem. It shuts down pretty regularly so I wouldn't depend on it. It can cause you to get a ticket and they won't cover the losses.
Now with the update they don't tell you when your time is going to expire unless you pay a 2.99 per month fee. And the popup for the monthly subscription continually comes up and I've almost hit accidentally multiple times. Deceptive app you're better off just using the kiosk now.
When you sign up for the app and watch their intro video, they do not tell you about the double/triple charge if you extend your time and the so called "alert" did not go off when my time was expiring. Don't even waste your time, such a rip off!
Goes hand in hand with PPA and their awful, deceptive practices throughout Philadelphia and the parking situation over the years. If you're a Philadelphian you know what I'm talking about. PPA gives the city a black eye and this app is representative of that. The app now requires a monthly fee in order to use!!! What a scam!
beware when trying to extend time. may give you the "please wait" circle for 30 minutes or more while you have run out of time and may risk getting a ticket
Zone info isn't posted anywhere obvious, isn't even in the app for some inexplicable reason, and calling customer service forces you to listen, no lie, to a list of every city they serve! Wtf crap is this?? DON'T INSTALL! Nothing but a headache. Let's not even talk about that popup ad..
The only caveat is if you have multiple cars make sure you pick the correct car. Learning curve item. I got zapped because I put the wrong car in.
Now there's a pop up for a 2.99 monthly subscription service i cant turn off or ignore everytime the app starts up. They are pushing the subscription hard
This app used to be ok but since the last update, it won't tell me when my time is expiring. Sounds like our Meter Up friends are in bed w the PPA.
This worked great three times, but the fourth time it caused my vastly more stress and inconvenience than it could ever save. Inexcusable bad error handling.
It used to be great. I even tried to pay the $2.99, and it keeps popping up. Switching to kiosk.
Same as other comments. No warning and no notice of double charge to extend time Will contest with AMEX. App just deleted.
It was 5 stars for me, but the recent change, charging for something that was free - notification that the meter is almost up - is no longer available. Never had a problem otherwise. Don't update the app!!!!
Its not allowing me to paid. The 2.99 popup keep blocking me from paying. Scam
Unable to use app. Every time I put in the code it tells me it's wrong. What's the deal.
Used to be you'd get app-based and SMS notifications when your meter was about to expire. Now they want $3/month ($36/year) for the privilege. Just pay the meter the old fashioned way...
Sucked in and then update...now its 2.99 per month to send alerts...NOT
So far been using this around the city, hope I don't get a ticket like everyone else
Stop spamming Pango Save requests.
Have never encoutered any problem. Make life so much easier
Great way to pay when you're not close
Always works
App no longer working once my phone was updated to 6.0. pressing pay while on the map did not bring up the section where I can input the kiosk number. App is useless if I can't pay! Clearing data and/or reinstalling doesn't fix the problem.
I got 2 parking violations and reported it to customer service. They resolved it for me quickly and professionally. The PPA needs to figure out a better method of tracking this service. A few times I had network failure when paying for parking begins, which is an important time for it to function properly.
The terms of service state that Pango is not responsible for any damages (such as an incorrect parking ticket), that arise from a failure of their app. Given that paying for parking is the sole function of the app, it is unreasonable to place this burden on the user. If the creators of this app do not stand behind their product, why should you take the risk of using it?
I can't even get past the terms of service, I enter my number and it sends me a code, when I enter that code and click ok all it says is confirm terms of service over and over again, ISN'T THAT WHAT I'M DOING?! then when I click on the terms of service the app immediately closes, doesn't even try to load anything. Great work PPA defending your title as the most corrupt buisness in the area, of course I'm going to get a ticket now this morning!!
I added time to my meter on the app, I saw the time go up an hour, I locked my phone and put it in my pocket. I came back to a parking ticket on my car. I called and emailed meterup and they told me I cancelled the time. I told them that it was not possible for that to happen but they refused to listen. They wouldn't admit that there could've been a problem with the app. That's funny because looking at the other reviews, it seems like other people have had problems with the app. I'm out $36. DO NOT USE.
This service is very deceptive. I recently downloaded and used in Philadelphia for the first two hours I was charged $5. As each session progressed the rate tripled this is not clearly communicated. I was unaware of this detail. This is just another way that the Philadelphia Parking Authority find a way to take advantage. Parking typically cost$15 not $53!!!!!!Please beware when using this service. The customer service agent was not helpful. I am very dissatisfied. Never using again!!!!!!
A little slow connecting, don't know why. Nothing wrong with phone. Once it connected, I had no problem, worked perfectly. Although it did not let me know when my time expired but it did let me know at my 7 minute period. I wasn't trying to extend my time so I wish it would have let me know when my 7 minutes what up so I didn't have to look at my watch often I like the way the time counts itself down. Now can this app do the Amazing by finding you a parking space I would give it a 10 if it would
App is amazing, great, and super convenient. I love just about every feature, except that when I extend time, I get charged not the extended amount, but the full price AGAIN, eg. If I paid 2.50 for the first hour, and then extend it 30mins more, I get charged 3.75 upon extension, instead of the 1.25 addition!! Please fix and refund me!
I have never had a good experience using this app. Not ever. This lady experience I got a message suggesting that I already had an active session. I figured that meant I had an active session. ... Apparently NOT. Ended up getting a ticket.
No longer works. The garages in my city don't even show up anymore. All I see are Philly. App is poorly written. Slow as molasses and full of bugs.
Selection of any extension beyond 15min crashes the app, if you have already crashed the app, reentering the time extension screen immediately crashes the app until a force close is done... Not a good start... After all this I am now unable to extend time, unable to start a new session with an app force close, a phone restart, and an app reinstall. it now crashes at any time selection screen
I love this app I love the access to be able to pay in my car and not have to fiddle with the kiosk. I love that it tells me when my times almost up. I love it it tells me when my times all most up. I love that I can extend my time if I'm running late... this is the best thing ever!
Won't accept any credit cards that work perfectly fine and also doesn't show me what the numbers are for the streets. Needs to take notes from the DC parking app.
I love this app. Just wish you could type the zone instead of scrolling through all of them. And I'm in Philly still waiting for them to install this in old city.
I installed the app feeling pretty hopeful about my chances of being able to pay online, despite other negative reviews. I should have listened to the negative reviews. First I couldn't get the app to load properly. Then I couldn't get it to accept my perfectly valid credit card info for either of the cards I tried. Long story short, I ended up with a ticket. Would be better off just sticking with public transportation. It just seems like another way for the Parking Authority to up their ticket quota.
Charging triple to extend my time?! Only on the 4th time extending did it explain that it's triple charges.

Despite promises of a warning 7 minutes before my meter was to expire I received no such notification. In addition, when I went to pay for additional parking I was charged an outrageous double fee for parking in the same zone longer than the signs indicate. I downloaded the app for peace of mind during a long salon appt. Instead I ended up paying an outrageous $12.50 for 3.5 hours of parking AND got a $36 ticket for the six minutes that lapsed in my parking because I never got the warning text.
