Nice try Oracle but you've failed once again. This app is so flaky.
It kept stopping to work, sometimes was showing my schedule as empty and that was only fixed after reinstalling the app. It aw didn't allow to remove a session and add a new one in a single transaction.
This app had a number of nice features, unfortunately they were all overshadowed by the abysmal performance. My expectations were high for an app being produced to support the biggest Java and Mobile technology conference out there. Like any app, it must WORK before being COOL. It threw multiple NPEs (Null Pointer Exceptions) on startup, something even the most junior Java Coder knows better than to allow in their code. In conjunction with the NPEs, it would often hang during startup, requiring you to force-kill it, It failed to cache credentials and was constantly forcing you to re-login (having to fully re-enter credentials). On any typo during login, it completely cleared the screen, forcing you to retype it all. The Schedule defaulted back to the first entry on Monday every time you did something, rather than focusing on the sessions which would be next. The manifest was structured such that it REQUIRED telephony rather than simply getting the permission, so tablets were blocked and it would only install on a phone. Note that I only discussed "local" issues here, things that are under full control of the developer, nothing that could be related to network congestion.
Constantly crashes.. All I care about is my schedule and it asks me to login multiple times and half the time won't work. After the most recent update can't even get past the splash screen. App is completely useless now. Very sad for an app that backs a developer conference
It doesn't distinguish if I'm registered or on wait list for a session in my schedule.
Constantly crashing
Such a poor excuse
Crashes for no reason
Thanks Javaone!
Keeps on crashing, drains battery and more......
The app looks better than the last year version. But non-actionable and useless "update complete" notifications every 30 minutes are pretty annoying.
Doesnt work. Crashes and doesnt show my schedule.
errors on syncing files or something
Crashes
I keep going to the My Schedule menu item and it doesn't populate. Too much load on the servers?? And I hate that my session expires and I have to sign in again.
