Geschichte mit dem Smartphone mal anders erleben: Das Wirken des Karlsruher Erfinders Carl Benz wird jetzt direkt in der Stadt erlebbar.

Die Carl Benz-App führt zu zentralen Lebens- und Wirkstätten des Automobilerfinders in seiner Geburtsstadt. Wichtige Stationen seiner Kindheit, Ausbildungs- und Studienzeit, bis hin zu seinem ersten Arbeitsplatz werden mit Hilfe von Filmen, Bildern und historischen Quellen erzählt. Gezeigt wird auch, wie Karlsruhe sich durch das Automobil verändert hat und wie Karlsruhe dem großen Erfinder gedenkt.

Entwickelt wurde die App von Studierenden der Pädagogischen Hochschule Karlsruhe in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Stadtmuseum Karlsruhe und dem Verein „Tribut an Carl Benz e.V.“.

Die Tour enthält Medien mit einem Datenvolumen von über 250 MB. Diese Medien werden direkt beim ersten Start der App geladen. Sie sollten zu diesem Zweck ein gutes WLAN zur Verfügung haben. Während der Tour werden lediglich Karten zur Orientierung nachgeladen. The Carl Benz app leads to central living and active sites of automobile inventor in his native city. Important stations of his childhood, education and studies, through to his first work to be told by means of films, pictures and historical sources. It also shows how Karlsruhe has changed by the automobile and how Karlsruhe commemorates the great inventor.

The app was developed by students of the Pedagogical University of Karlsruhe in collaboration with the City Museum of Karlsruhe and the association "tribute to Carl Benz eV".

The tour includes media with a data volume of more than 250 MB. These media are directly loaded when you first start the app. You should have a good Wi-Fi for this purpose. During the tour only cards are reloaded for orientation.
