GPS Tracking and permanent geolocation feature for your safety, a record chart and option to create a hiking journal that you can share with your friends etc. Thanks to Quechua Tracking, your smartphone can be converted into a genuine outdoor GPS and can keep a record of all your hiking experiences.
Localization system and safety:
Using the collaborative map, OpenStreetMap-Landscape, Quechua allows you to find out your GPS position, in real time, anywhere in the world.
This map is updated with new details every day, thanks to the contributions of internet users. It also has special outdoor graphics (with contour lines, trails, vegetation, ski-lifts, etc.)
Zoom available up to a scale of approximately 1/10000m (depending on resolution of smartphone)
If you wish to provide rapid and accurate information to the emergency services about your location, in the event of an incident, you can simply send a screenshot of your position on the map by text or MMS.
If you're worried about poor network coverage during your hike, Quechua Tracking includes a function that allows you to "download a map:" pay a one-off charge of EUR 1.99 (InApp Purchase) and then you can download, onto your mobile, the appropriate base map for the route you wish to take.
Record chart:
Quechua Tracking allows you to view your activity and your performances: altitude, cumulative elevation gain/loss, distance covered, climbing speed, walking time etc. This will help you focus your efforts and improve your hiking time.
Hiking Journal:
Start and finish points, elevation gain/loss, route, duration, speed etc. Quechua Tracking allows you to record information about your trip, combine photos and comments and create your very own HikeBook®: a new type of hiking journal, incorporating your finest memories.
You can share photos taken during your hike, at any time on Facebook™ or e-mail your Hikebook® to selected individuals.

It's a good app with detailed maps. The only thing which really bothers me is why it uses so much background data. This month it has used 535 MB so far (and we haven't reached the 15th). Needless to say, I download the offline maps only when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Aangekocht maar crashed soms. Weather module ook aangekocht en werkt helemaal niet, crashed meteen. Alles moet aangekocht worden maar alles werkt buggy. Map download duurt héél lang en is dan nog niet helemaal gedownload (sommige delen zijn dan niet gelukt). Dit op een samsung s7 dus geen oud toestel en up to date. Als er werk van gemaakt wordt kan dit een goeie app zijn maar nu is het buggy piece of crap, zeker als je er dan nog voor betaalt. Feit dat je voor alle modules apart moet betalen is stom.

Hi! I like the app,but I wish I had the option to open a saved hike and also have the present location available. In other words I wish I could retake a hike and use the app as a map to show me where to go through!

I like the app, and it was useful during a recent hike, but I have the following comments; because I have a high resolution phone, the map labels become pretty small. Furthermore I purchased the offline map feature, but I was surprised, that the maximum zoom is 1 kilometer in offline mode, and when online the zoom can go all the way to 100 meters, which makes a big difference, when being out on a hike! I hope the two issues will/can be fixed in a future release?

Seems like a good app. Unfortunately, after three days of using it I still can't figure out how to display miles instead of kilometers. There is something wrong with a design when something so basic is so hard to find. I sure wish programmers would go back to the old days when software actually came with a user manual. The current practice of letting the user figure out what the program does and how to do it is just frustrating.
