This independent study titled as “Development of Lanna Textile Information Presentation System Using Augmented Reality Technology on Android Operating System”
aims to present Lanna textile information augmented reality technology based on android mobile.
This application provides more convenience for people who is interested in Lanna textile.
The application was developed by using Qualcomm’s Vuforia Augmented Reality SDK to manage detection
and tracking of cloud based image targets and host user’s content on cloud that allowing user to frequently upload and provide new textile content
more than 1000 contents in the cloud.
Moreover, Qualcomm’s Vuforia Augmented Reality SDK uses OpenGL ES to render 3D content on the Android platforms. The developed application
presents a virtual 3D model of textile skirt as the viewer’s perspective of the target image so as to be the virtual object of the real world scene.
In addition, it also provides users with instant textiles detail and promotion through their mobile device.
This developed application was evaluated by measuring its response rate and usefulness from both of people who interested and disinterested in Lanna textile.
