Greeting Fluency Aid

Learn a few words of greetings in the languages of your neighbors.


The Greeting Fluency Initiative seeks to encourage citizens to learn simple phrases of greetings in the languages of their neighbors. This simple act communicates a profound respect for other cultural groups and opens a window onto the rich cultural experiences that are a part of our own community. The Greeting Fluency Initiative has several tools that are available for free to the public. These audio files are created by native speakers and help teach greeting phrases so citizens can achieve Greeting Fluency.

Global Civic founder Sam Sullivan believes that with a minimal amount of effort most of us can become Greeting Fluent.

The Greeting Fluency Aid smart phone app has been created to support the efforts of citizens interested in learning greeting phrases in the languages of their neighbours and it is offered free of charge. It includes a number of First Nations languages from the British Columbia area, many of which are endangered. We hope to contribute toward the revitalization of these treasures and we thank David Robertson for his efforts. We thank the many volunteers who have worked so hard to bring this to reality. It is a work in progress and we invite feedback on how we can make it better.
