Quite disappointed with the so understood "Qnap Quality". The app is fairly slow to open the access for file management, spinning circle on a decent android. The orange background UI is not everyone's ideal colour, quite a basic option to change colour in many other applications. Auto backups of videos & photos is hit & miss, have to switch off WiFi off & on, to initiate the so called Auto upload. For a premium product, quality & performance is somewhat lacking.

by Y####:

It has improved quite a bit since last year. The embedded video player is slow sometimes and can only support mp4 video format, which is quite disappointing. Finally it got fingerprint and password production like Dropbox. The latest update 12/26/17 makes the access to nas much faster and what it should be. The slow access is always a nagging issue, but not any more. Keep up the good work.

Searching did not work now. Previous version was much better. I did not see any improvement. Still problem with connecting - you can not switch to other application (for example Chrome). When you return back, it is necessary to reconnect.

Z70%
by Z####:

Search function no longer seems to work, which was the primary reason I used it. Other than that, the other functions seem to still work.

F70%
by F####:

Auto upload is useful, but thwarted by shortsighted and clumsy approach to photo management. i.e delete a photo in the viewer and you're returned to the main menu instead of the next photo on the roll, basically a PC is still needed to sort family albums etc.

M70%
by M####:

For this app new updates (2.7.3.1211), the auto upload is no longer working. I created a new folder in nas for uploading stack photos in my new phone., but only a few photos taken after the folder created got uploaded with errors. pls rectify it asap.

Everytime I sign in it requires me to enter my authentication code again. It should only ask that once in a while or when changing login.

You can only look at files, for file manager I want to repair my filesystem remotely, but no go. At the moment I don't really see the point of this. I can look at files, yay. But It seriously needs more.

Works good after recent update

Y70%

Not as expected, it's very slow uploading file from Mobile to SAN even with wifi connection, also no option to delete files after being synced. compared to synology which is more organized and faster upload. I'm disappointed.

Y70%
by Y####:

Somewhat the only decent app from Qnap. You've fixed all mayor bugs, congrats! I only ask for a proper icon now, I use a free form launcher and this on looks really awful with all that white around.

A70%
by A####:

Installed it for its sync feature, which turned out to be terribly slow. Quite a shame. Moved on to a generic app, which I am much happier with.

Y70%

Hate it. Frequently disconnect and unable to reconnect.

No longer finds device to stream to using dlna, what's the problem?

Y70%
by Y####:

Poor performace, generally slow and unreliable

Y70%

Awesome. I use it to backup photos from my phone.

Its good when you have a nas

Please, make the app Android 8.0 battery optimization compatible!!! I'm getting drain battery because of that!!!

Y70%

Need one features is one click to delete phone photo after upload to NAS

Great app for syncing your devices to your QNAP server(s).

W70%

I have used the ios version of this app and its vastly superior (ie faster) on the the auto upload. The ios version is like a rocket compared to the android approach. Not sure why the but this app seems to show 3 versions of the same file to be uploaded (which don't exist) and then slowly/ eventually uploads the one file. Not sure if this has anything to do with the speed issue

Q70%
by Q####:

Once again, auto upload doesn't work, or has it in month. I have to launch the app and manually start the uploads. It's not the first time I've had this same issue with this app over the last couple of years. It seems they can only figure it out for a short while.

by E####:

Removed ability to generate LINK ONLY. Now forces you to select sharing method. Makes whole process more complicated just to share.

Y70%
by Y####:

Pros: Lets you auto sync folders or galleries, keeps sub folder structure. Has basic auto sync features. Cons: Uploads fail and don't restart often, have to manually restart each file or clear tasks and readd everything. Would be nice to set up multiple auto upload folders. A feature that would prompt whether i want to start sync would be good too.

Says connection information is wrong but I can see it. First time set up. However, all the other Q-related apps allows me to log in with the exact credentials. Maybe it's only this app...I wouldn't know since this is the only one I wasn't able to connect to using the same info.

A70%
by A####:

Using it primarily to view stored camera snapshots in jpg format. Doesn't show them unless I choose "download and open with other apps". Not even a preview. Don't know it's a limitation or a setting I'm missing.

Y70%
by Y####:

Much as I want to like this, it seems to fail every time copy in a 8gb file from the nas to a memory stick which I'd expect it to handle effortlessly. Poor.

P70%
by P####:

When I switch back into the app after a period of not using it, it becomes unresponsive and pressing any of the buttons (back, home, etc.) double taps them.

Superbly updated software for my NAS. I love it.

U70%
by U####:

Nice that you can backup all of your photo's to your own storage.

N70%
by N####:

There is a fundamental flaw with this app in that you can't rely on it for automatically backing up your files in the background. It simply stops unless you're staring at it. It's a good app for seeing what's on your NAS but that's about it.

Y70%
by Y####:

Love the app. But I was not able to find a way to set the default download location on my device to the SD card. Not sure that it is possible.

X70%
by X####:

Now this version I cannot open pdf file from the app. Please advise.

W70%
by W####:

It frequently stops during playback

Y70%
by Y####:

Works as advertised and not to complicated to set up. Unfortunately it does not support uploading only when charging, hence it's photo upload feature which is what I was looking for is useless for me, for now... Hoping for the feature to be added.

This app is one of my necessary apps. Works great and love the recent improvements! Makes me want to purchase from qnap again!

Y70%
by Y####:

Too many permisions. Phone number? Contacts? Camera? No file management app needs these permissions.

Y70%
by Y####:

L'app funziona bene ed é molto utile. Metto 4 stelle perché manca la possibilità di accettare le cartelle condivise in qsync. Si deve necessariamente accettare prima la cartella da pc per poterla visualizzare su Qfile.

Worked great before this update. Now when deleting files it just shows the circle animation until you back out and go back into the folder. Also when copying files it shows loading and no progress bar shows for transfer. Seems like they put out an alpha build for everyone to test. The comments are loaded with bug reports. I would role back the update until the bugs can be sorted out.

J70%

Although this app files just fine with my server, it does NOT allow you to edit the file name prior to saving to your selected folder. Several other reviewers have commented on this and the response was that it DID exist by hitting the "..." or the "!" I see the "..." but when I click it, the entire line illuminates and it simply moves you up to a higher folder. This option is badly needed. For example, when you save a PDF created by another app such as Firebox and want to save it directly to your QNAS, you want the ability to edit the file name prior to saving. Same with Photo's, there doesn't seem to be the ability to edit the file name of anything when you share it via Qfile to your QNAS. I'll be glad to change my rating if I can do this. Perhaps I am missing something...
