تلعب وسائل الإعلام عدة وظائف هامة في المجتمع لما فيها توفير المعلومات وتغيير الاتجاهات والتأثير المباشر على السلوك.
وتشير الاستطلاعات السكانية أن وسائل الإعلام هي المصدر الرئيسي للمعلومات حول القضايا الهامة الصحية على مدى الخمس والعشرين عاماً السابقة مثل التحكم في الوزن وفيروس نقص المناعة المكتسبة وتعاطي المخدرات والربو وتنظيم الأسرة وفحص الثدي.
وتؤثر وسائل الإعلام على الوعي الصحي والسلوكيات الصحية بوسيلتين أساسيتين: التسويق الاجتماعي وخلق قوى ضغط للتغيير السياسي والبيئي والاجتماعي وبناء على ثورة الاتصالات الحديثة فلقد ظهرت بجانب الوسائل التقليدية مثل (الصحف – التلفاز- الراديو) وسائل التواصل الحديثة وهي الصحة الالكترونية E-health التي تدخل في نطاقها استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي والانترنت التي تعرف من قبل منظمة الصحة العالمية بأنها للجمع بين استخدام تكنولوجيا الاتصالات والمعلومات الالكترونية في القطاع الصحي مما يجعل مشاركة المجتمع في البرامج والحملات الصحية فعالة وسيكون له الأثر الأكبر على تغيير سلوكياتهم ويجعلهم قادرين على الإشراف على صحتهم بأنفسهم كركيزة أساسية للارتقاء بصحة المجتمع.

مجتمع كويتي يتمتع بدرجة عالية من الوعي الصحي ويتبع أنماط حياة صحية تمكنه من تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة.

تفعيل دور وزارة الصحة في نشر التوعية الصحية بالمجتمع و خلق البيئة الداعمة للصحة باستخدام وسائل الإعلام التقليدي والحديث ومبادئ التسويق الاجتماعي وإبراز إنجازات وجهود وزارة الصحة الكويتية لخدمة المجتمع. The impact of the media on health awareness and health behaviors by two means pillars: social marketing and creating a strong pressure of political, environmental and social change and build on the modern communications revolution has emerged alongside traditional means (such as newspapers - Allvaz- radio) and the means of modern communication which is the electronic E-health health intervention in scope of the use of social media and the internet which is defined by the World Health Organization as to combine the use of electronic communication and information technology in the health sector, which makes community participation in health programs and campaigns effective and will have fu T biggest change their behavior and make them able to supervise their health by themselves as a pillar essential to improve the health of the community.

Kuwaiti society enjoys a high degree of health awareness and follow a healthy life being able to achieve the goals of sustainable development patterns.
