The Raiser's Edge

Was broken from November 2015 (or earlier) through April 2016 (when I was notified of the fix, case 12901702) See Blackbaud KB 96922.

No update in 2 years, so unless you still have a dinosaur android running 4.2 or lower, you won't be able to use this. Blackbaud, you have the resources to give us better than this, it's what we pay you for. So do it.

This app worked beautifully on my Note 4 (Android), and now won't on my Note 5. From all I have read the upgrade needs to come from Blackbaud. Let's hope they deal with it soon. If they push out an upgrade this will go back to a 5.

Tried installing twice, each time app appears to let me log on but then crashes with a fatal error. Totally useless!

No app update in almost 3 years. Very basic and lacks features.

Doesn't work and it hides app data on your phone where you can't find it so you can't fix it. Eventually they'll push some version on us that will work but cost $$$.

Keep trying.

Useless app. Have spent too much time uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting and reaetting account, refreshing device, clearing caches, reconfig, etc. NO sdolution. No good. Don't bother.

Makes me sad to see no app for Android tablets. Would sure be nice to be able to view things on the larger screen. Also, it's unfortunate there aren't regular updates to the app as well.

It has a beautiful minimalist interface, and the content is so easy to scale down in the main Raiser's Edge that I really love this app. Great opportunities for interactivity too.

it's great to have it on my phone but it would be a game changer to be able to have it on a tablet or Chromebook so when out the office notes and actions could be added without a lot of effort. Our phones are used primarily to stay up to speed it is insanely tedious to try and do a large amount of typing on any phone. What we really need is the ability to put in our actions on a tablet or the Chromebook while traveling. Chromebooks and tablets are changing the way we can do business and they way half as much as a laptop making it a preferable option for travel.

UPDATE: Well I can load donors most of the time.... The app is still terrible. I've added actions and then they never appear on the report.You can tell how much BB cares since they haven't updated it in over a year. Get with the times Blackbaud! Don't create a piece of junk just to have an app.... Make it work! PREVIOUS:I can search a donor but then their information won't load. Please fix this. I love having an app. It makes my life easier. Please make it work!

Specifically Nexus 7 Thanks for the S4 support by the way. Edit 3/4/2014. Android now dominates the tablet market yet still no tablet support. Edit 8/18/2014 I think its safe to call this app abandoned. Edit 9/29/14 Still no updates...

I had an old Samsung Continuum with Android 2.2 and was able to utilize the RE mobile app -- old phone but solid performance. Upgraded the phone at the end of my contract. But this Samsung Galaxy Nexus (which the app store says is compatible to this app) won't launch on my device for anything, just force closes. Purchased an ASUS ME301T which is running Android's Jelly Bean and the app store does not even list it in the list of compatible apps. I can't believe upgrading to modern hardware would put me in a position where I would not be able to run this!

Sometimes it hangs up when looking up a donor using the recently viewed option. It would be great if when you call or email someone it tags that record.

Can't start the app on my Nexus. That's inexcusable for an app from a large company. Will try the update to be released on the 3rd April. Increased rating from one to two stars due to good engagement from Blackbaud. Will revise rating again after I have tested the update.

I just downloaded the app to my Droid Razr because I am going to be on the road. I went to search for someone this morning and was only able to enter THREE letters of the person's name before it stopped allowing me to enter anymore. I pressed "search" and it retrieved zero entities. Knowing our database, there are definitely more than zero entities with the letters COR in their name. This app is super super frustrating and completely useless for me to even try to use while on the road.

Good, not perfect, but considering the cost, I'm sold.

I have reinstalled, but the problem persists...I can only type three characters if the donor name and it will not allow me to hit enter.

Not running on HTC devices with Ice Cream Sandwich!

Cant even attempt to enter my details, force closes immediately. Nexus 4 running stock rom.

Finally updated our organizations RE to 7.92 so we could start using this mobile function...Can't even get past the login button before it closes. My smart phone is over over a year old. One would think my OS should run this app.

Why have new technology that wont work with the latest operating systems (jelly bean). Also disappointed with speed on Iphone using high speed WIFI...

Just about done dealing with the technical failings of Blackbaud's exorbitantly expensive service.

What it does it does just fine.

The Blackberry App does not work on O/S 10 so you have to do a side-load install of the Android App. (very complicated for novice BlackBerry users) That aside, why has the Android App not been updated in over 10 months? Why can we not update contact info in the field (The app does not allow you to write to the database (except Actions)? (This is mission-critical.) Why can't we search on multiple fields? eg Last, City Why is there no customer feedback to Raiser's Edge to make this happen? eg an online 'wish list' with development status: approved, in development, in testing, completed Lastly, why is Blackbaud silent about all this? At the time of writing, there are 27 negative reviews to 4 positive reviews. Any executive worth their salt would consider that a serious failure.

What's the point of having a mobile app if it doesn't work across all platforms?

This app would great if everything worked and functioned properly. I cant save actions. There's no button to save. Galaxy 3 Android user

Never had it running, ever. Tried with 3 different phones and 2 tablets. Always crashes after I've entered my login details. Do not use, go for the citrix app instead.

It is nice to have The Raiser's Edge on my phone but it would better on a tablet. Anytime soon?

This app should be made available for the Galaxy 4.

From Blackbaud Support: "The Samsung Galaxy S4 ships with Android 4.2.2. The latest version of Android OS which is supported by the mobile app is 4.1.1. The newest version of Android OS is not yet supported. It is certainly on the radar for a future release of the app, but unfortunately I do not have an estimated timetable for release."

App force closes every time I tap login. Should work better than that on a stock Nexus device.

Tested on 3 different android phones and it doesn't run on any of them throwing a different error on each of them. It is running fine on iPhone 3GS

Bought a smartphone specifically to use this app, but it doesn't load at all and force closes. I am using a Nexus (Android).

I can't get RE to work on my galaxy s4. Please fix.
