I've been using this for almost 5 years with my Tanita BC590-BT. It still works (on my Nexus 5, 4.4.2). However it's very finicky to initially setup on a new phone. Here's the procedure I've had the most success with: 1. Turn on phone Bluetooth 2. Search for devices 3. Turn on scale 4. Select Tanita Bluetooth device, pin 0000. Pair 5. Remove batteries from scale. Leave few minutes. Restart phone. 6. Turn on phone. Start Btscale 7. Turn on scale. From then on just ensure you start the app before the scale.
