Cimorelli /s?m?'r?li/ (Italian pronunciation: [t?i?mo?r?l'li]) is a singing group from El Dorado Hills, California that first gained popularity on YouTube singing cover music. They were subsequently signed to Universal Music's Island label. Now composing and writing their own songs, Cimorelli is made up of six sisters: Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy, Lauren, and Dani. Their music is mostly made up of a cappella singing with occasional instruments.
As of January 2017, the group has released five extended plays, a mixtape called Hearts on Fire, and two full-length albums titled Up At Night and Alive.
Career
2007–2008: Formation
In 2007, the oldest five girls of the family launched Cimorelli as a vocal group. They recorded covers of charting songs and uploaded them to YouTube.
In 2008, the girls released their first EP. Each song was written by Christina and Lauren with the vocal harmonies arranged by Lisa.
