About 1 Million Particles

Chose any number of particles between 10000 and 1 million. Optimized for quad core CPUs, on mid end devices you can get over 10 FPS with 1 million particles on screen. You can move them with your fingers (the brush size is pressure sensitive, if your device supports it), and/or you can set attractors that will attract or repulse the particles. You can set up as many attractors as you want, so long as the number is under 50.

You can also use pinch to zoom (in and out) and shake the phone on two axis to scatter the particles.

To get to the main menu, just press the "back" button.

The entire program is written in C, using SDL2, so it is quite fast. If there is enough interest, I will also provide a desktop version and I'll add new features.

The reading storage permission is needed by SDL2 in order to be able to load/save the configuration.

A bit basic with its user interface, but it works. Also saves space. Expected the app to sorta not blow me away with responsiveness, and pretty much got said results, but it does work. It can take quite a bit of processing to handle all those particles. Only use if you think your phone is fast enough. (Don't know if it is? I personally recommend CPUZ on Google Play to check on the specifics of your hardware)

I can't believe how many hours I've spent with this. Completely mesmerizing. One suggestion...can you make it so instead of the walls reflecting or absorbing particles...it can completely repel them? I spent a ton of time once placing negative attractors around the whole perimeter. The result was a cool blob osscilating in middle. It'd be awesome to be able to turn that on and off.

S70%
by S####:

Though the settings can be rather difficult to control with my sausage fingers. The effects and patterns are undeniably mesmerising, and has provided me with hours of plentiful fun.

A70%
by A####:

I've spent hours using the attractors on specific settings, in specific locations in fluid mode and it simulates gravitational current pretty well. I'm having a blast creating currents and adjusting them to kind of shield a specific area causing it to be free of particles.

U70%
by U####:

It doesn't do anything and lags so badly, if u touch it- it would freeze up and u can't get the settings again after your done. U can't do alot of things on it and there's nothing good I can't say about it.

U70%
by U####:

A mesmerizing interaction of forces, fun to play with hope they add more functions in the future I would really like a record function to freeze frame experiments

U70%
by U####:

Mesmerizing! One suggestion I will make is allow users to save templates for quick setup in case you want to replicate an effect, pattern, what have you.

U70%
by U####:

2things I hate : a bit lag and can't remember the settings the way I used to..

O70%
by O####:

Nice one. A bit too slow compared to similar apps given the same number of particles.

U70%
by U####:

THE MOST BORING game I ever played the makers don't even know how to make game these days

N70%
by N####:

The attractors change on their own and ruins everything I try to make, waste of time

Y70%
by Y####:

I just get a blank screen, doesn't do anything. Tab s8.4 lollipop. Uninstalled.

B70%
by B####:

It's a very entertaining app, but use at your own risk because it drains your battery 3% per second.

L70%
by L####:

Installed and open and it caused my phone to become slow. It would not allow me to open up the menu to lower some settings.

Dude, this thing is way too freekin' G-ROOVY, how fun...!! I say, keep working on it....!! My J1 samy is even more, like, Way Too Coolio'

U70%

What I think is that so not care about the reviews or things like that just do what you believe you can do and you will accomplish amazing things.

J70%
by J####:

It bugs and the quality is bad. I wouldn't recommend it.

A70%
by A####:

Don't rate low this app just because you don't like it, rate it based on if it works or not, if it lags in your phone just reduce the number of particles.

U70%
by U####:

It's pretty bad. It isn't to fun either.

U70%

Thats all imma say

L70%

Very cool, but please add particle interaction. The particles do not affect each other.

U70%

Crashes on install. Dont bother with it.

Just installed it expecting it to freeze, using an s6 edge plus. It was awesome, used all the particles at full speed and it was awesome! The framerate was perfectly fine, it was more than smooth enough to enjoy the game. If you spread your fingers out all the particles will congregate around the edge of the phone, you can then blast them all back into the middle and create explosions. If you play around enough you can almost create individual galaxies and whirlwinds and what look like black holes. Genius!!

This is an app for when you're tripping out of your mind. The UI is simple enough to use, even if you had your own geometric color form objects trying to get in your way. Any other time it just gets boring fast, and makes you wish you had something make more interesting.

F70%
by F####:

When I move my fingers over it nothing happens. Any way triple A is much better for style. Try it and I bet you will keep it forever on your tablet!

U70%

All I can say is thank heavens for the LG G5.. On my Galaxy Tab, it was dreadful! On the G5 this is phenomenal, so; don't install if you don't have a good device..

R70%
by R####:

what it does still escapes me however. the screen fills with particles and you can touch and swipe and it makes lines in the particles then fills back in. wow. it's a truly pointless app but I guess some people like it, not me though.

A wonderful thing. So much beauty from (presumably) so few equations. It would be even better with some explanation.
