About App List Backup

How much do you hate it when you lose your awesome apps?
What if I told you that you can once and for all solve this problem by just downloading a simple app to take care of this for you?
Just think about all the time and nerves you are going to save in case your phone accidentaly brakes, you just buy a new one or simply want yo share you app list with a friend.
And lets be honest - upgrading to a new phone or just changing your current one has been a pain in the ass for Android since ever,
no matter what Google tells you or updates - you know that you just cannot be 100% sure.
With App List Backup you can have all your apps with you all the time - wherever you go and whatever happens to your phone.
You will:
- Save file with all your apps
- Easily forward them to a friend (no side-app needed, just copy and paste this file from your device to the target device)
- Re-download them whenever you want or need (on the same or another device)
- High security

If you want to have possibility to choose where to save the backup file, please see our PRO VERSION or ZERO PERMISSION VERSION.

NOTES:
The idea is NOT to back up non-Play-Store apps or to save you from re-downloading apps.
This app doesn't work properly with some devices. It may write the file on Internal storage. This is because getExternalStorageDirectory method provided by Android doesn't work properly on every device (for example Samsung Galaxy). We try to make some hacks to fix this Android app but still doesn't working on some devices.
So please don't rate negatively due to that...

This app saves a backup of your application list (or the part of it that you choose) onto the devices accessible storage (IN THE HOME DIRECTORY OF THIS STORAGE PATH). Then you can restore from this file.

DOES NOT WORK FOR ANDROID 6.0 ON SOME DEVICES

Successfully created backup to SD card, then factory reset my phone. Backup file is still on SD card, but this app tells me "No backup found." Utterly worthless.

R70%
by R####:

worst app i ever seen it doesn't save apps but tells u to download them from play store just a piece of crap WORST APP IN THE HISTORY IF SMARTPHONES

B70%
by B####:

Same problem as others. Backed up App list, reset phone, reloaded app, it said no saved list on SD card. Nothing had been reformated and the SD card hadn't even been removed from the phone. Useless waste of time.

R70%
by R####:

This is always the second app I install on a new device - Avast Security is the first. Makes configuring a new device a snap.

R70%
by R####:

I use it every time I install a new ROM or switch phones. I have titanium backup but with most apps being cloud based these days, I prefer to avoid the mess - so I use app list backup instead bc it's simple and clean.

Have since switched to My App List, which offers automatic export in XML and is open source.

Which folder is the list saved to and where is the option to change folder save location?

We're you serious when you made this app? "success, you app backup has been made to phone or sd card" wtf! What is it! Phone or sd card?! Don't even give an option to choose! Take this app off the store

Do not have SD card so found the doc, tried to open it so I cld save it in Google docs and all it had in the text was a number 2! Will stick with Easy Backup and Restore. Don't need to pay to save via email with that App either. Uninstalled.

Y70%
by Y####:

Backed up to SD card. When I reset my phone and reinstalled the card I was greeted with a "No SD card" error. Big disappointment. This app is a classic "you had ONE job" meme.

J70%
by J####:

Backed up to my SD card then installed a new Android version. When I tried to restore it said no file found. Worse than a waste of time.

T70%

Pro version no longer functions, with Android OS v6.0.1 Marshmallow update; abandonware (no app update since 8/28/15)? But I tried this original free version (no app update since 8/20/15); it seems to work okay, though has ads. No response by developer, to email inquiries. :::crickets::: Perhaps you could place that v6.0 disclaimer at the TOP of your app description, not on the LAST line.

Y70%
by Y####:

Does not create backup on SD card, instead creates it on internal storage. I used the app to backup app list while resting my mobile. With reset the app backup also got deleted.

I use lenovo a7000, had SD card in while taking the backup, and then reset the phone. No backup found upon restore.

I used this with another app to backup and restore. The other app failed to back up all software so App List helped fill in the gaps.

Y70%
by Y####:

Didn't save to Microsd, instead to emulated sd. Didn't have choice of save location. Could save thumbnails. Could integrate with another store too. And no filters to quickly select apps

I too lost everything when the app said it had successfully stored my list. Come to find out, it hadn't.

I read the reviews, thought, "This sounds ideal", installed it, used it, checked the backup on my SD card. Wiped the phone, installed the app, hit Restore - Nothing Found. I run an HTC One M8, if that makes any difference?

This did not work at all. Waste of time. No point as when i installed it and then saved the app. The micro sd didnt save anything (in new phone)

Its great that this makes a list of all your current apps but the point behind doing so is in case something happens to your phone. Backing up to the SD card defeats this purpose and email backup is not optimal. They should add support for Dropbox and Google Drive among others.
