Freebirds Restaurant for Android
You have to scan your receipts within 3 days or you lose the points. Getting them at the register at POS was too easy? Oh, and the scanner sucks. I've yet to get a scan to work. I sure hope I get an apology for the inconvenience. That always fixes the issue.
The app sucks. Scanning doesnt work, it just keeps searching and searching. Its faster to punch in the numbers. Once I finally get it in, it tells me that I'm not near a Freebirds restaurant. Screw you app, I'm sitting inside the dumb place. Utterly worthless.
I ordered two bowls, but the lady rang me up and ran my card, not hearing me say I have two. So I had to do a separate purchase. Went to scan my second receipt and it said I could not scan multiple receipts from the same visit. Good job replacing a card system that works with an app that doesnt.
I have not been able to get the scanner to recognize a single receipt. I have a Moto X Pure so the software and hardware should not be an issue. This apps primary function doesn't work for me therefore I do not like using it. If the scanner reads the barcode it says it's an invalid code but 99. 9% of the time it tries to read but won't recognize the barcode.
As we all did I went to Freebirds and found out "oh hey we changed how we give rewards for customer loyalty". So as most I saved each receipt and once I finally got to downloading the app and looking at it. I got my free one for starting then next day started to load all my previous reciepts. Low and behold all 7 reciepts are classified as "to old" and cannot be redeemed. So not only is this app a total failure. It also has also wasted my time and now my money. L8's Freebirds I'm out.
Recommend you avoid this company at all costs. Food quality and service have declined. This app is absolutely terrible. There are many choices out there. Just say no to Freebirds.
The app is absolutely terrible. Not intuitive or useful at all. On top of that the new rewards program is way more complicated and basically built to not give you points. I used to love freebirds and now it is such a frustrating experience to use their rewards program.
My old rewards was by phone# and the app wants to sync by email only so I lose all my old points/rewards. Also ditto previous comment: burrito only purchases have to spend almost double the amount to earn a reward. Uninstalling and not going to be as frequent a customer.
I would have to buy 22 regular burritos to earn one free burrito, drink and chips ... and I don't really want the drink and chips. Old program was so much better. They are trying to be Starbuck like.
Don't the low ratings your customers are giving you tell you something? This app and the new rewards program suck. I just want the cashier to swipe my card and not have to install another stupid app, sign up for an account and worry about scanning my receipt within 3 days. I just love how all the 5 star reviews seem to be within a month of the app being released and not much after that. Wonder how many of those folks work for Punchtech or Freebirds... Going to Freebirds a lot less now.
As has been mentioned, it used to take 10 burrito purchases to get a free one ($70-90 spent). Now we have to purchase $150 to get that free burrito. Customers who only purchase a burrito get screwed on the deal. Sorry, Freebirds, but the old system was far better (for us) and I won't be eating there nearly as often, nor will I use the app. The 2.5 rating should be telling you something. I love how the response to a legitimate complaint about the new system is "spend more money and you'll see it's worth it!" That's a joke, right? As much as I like Freebirds I'm adjusting my patronage to zero. Pull the greed card and I'm out.
Small text, annoying notifications. "Free with purchase" is not the same as "free" - but figuring out the difference takes serious eye-strain.
This is more a rating of the new system than the app. Freebirds has gone the way of Starbucks, going to a cash system instead of purchases. Bad move! I've loved Freebirds for over 15 years, but will now avoid and frequent locations with more generous rewards!
It was very simple: buy 10 meals get one free. I had 9 stamps when they changed to the app. They "converted" my stamps, and claimed to give a free entree just for installing the app. We'll, no one told me there was a time limit. My free entree vanished 1 week after installing the app. The meal I was 1 stamp away from? I still haven't "earned" it. They gave me 90 points for my 9 stamps. The problem is, you need 150 to get a meal. Each salad I buy gives 7 points. Now it takes 21 salads to get 1 free. Thanks.
I hate having to install yet another App to keep track of my rewards. The big winner Freebirds who can now send you notifications to tell you about their latest campaign.
I've been a Freebirds customer since 2000. I was surprised when I went by this weekend to get lunch that they no longer use the card. Was told to download the app to use my points, they would automatically convert over. I earned a free burrito already on the old card (12 pts), now I have the app, and have to earn another 30 points to get a free burrito. Yes there is a free 1 bc I downloaded the app but I have to purchase a drink to get it and expires in 7 days. Also don't need chips/queso w my free burrito.
This app is ridiculous. It's so much easier to just swipe a rewards card. I will now be visiting Freebirds less due to the change.
I had to switch phones recently (thank you, Note 7) and when I install & open the app, it asks me to enter the email to link my account. When I do so, it says the account is already migrated and won't go further. I have Rockstar status but have been unable to log my last 2 meals there because of this glitch. And yes, I emailed it in through the app. Please work on this program. It it's more trouble than it's worth, your competitors will steal your business.
The cards were better and easier, was a point away from a free burrito now, it's like I have nothing. Can't even use my account on a different phone
The app claims they listened to their consumers. I would argue you have a messed up survey pool. I never wanted an all invasive privacy invading app or the grief of logging into a web portal to gain points. I won't be returning to Freebirds anytime soon unless there is a work around to get my points back. Even then, the point system if obviously broken. I can sell out my cellphone's personal data for burritos or spend 15min logging on a web portal. No thanks. Ticked off former customer.
Cant redeem receipt points after 72 hours... Freebirds used to be a chill place that kept your points for you and now i cant even get my points because i didnt scan i barcode within 3 days. Give me a break. Freebirds is really losing fan base right now
This gives you 72 hours to scan your receipt, whereas the old Fanatic card would register your purchase immediately. The scan doesn't always work there in the restaurant, so you have to keep trying later, at home, until it does. When I take the family, it's at least a $65 tab, and I have missed out on several of those because your system didn't work. The kids like the food, but this little bit of soulless corporate BS ticks me off just enough so that we don't go as often as we could. Rebates through loyalty programs are good; but pissing off your customers is bad.
It's too much effort. This is supposed to make it fun'r and easier. Not a pain. Still love the food but app not cool.
All the points I have earned from the rewards card are no longer accessible... this is a rip off.
The T-shirts, mini LED Flashlight, free burrito, and tote bag are worth far more than just the free burrito points from the former reward program. It does require more points to get the free items than the old program. The food is way fresher than Chipotle and has 80% less salt in my opinion. The Highlands location off of 20 has a 1st rate friendly staff, and Shai from Corporate office is outstanding delivering excellent customer service and care.
Was a frequent customer and brought many employees along. The new program is terrible and the app doesn't work half the time. Quality in product has also declined. Was Freebirds bought out? New burrito joint for me.
Go back to the card, it worked! Says it transferred over my points, but I was 1 or 2 away, now I'm nowhere close. Way to screw up a good thing...
72 hours is not long enough to record a receipt. I process my receipts once a week (and this is when I scan them) and frequently my points are disallowed because I didn't scan within 72 hours. What is the rush? Why is there a problem with allowing 30 days? I also think scanning receipts is cumbersome. They should have put a bar code into the app... and then we scan the app at the register.
Works like a charm! If you know how to work a phone and a camera, you can use this app. I don't understand why people have so many problems with it because it's easy. Scan the barcode on your receipt with your phone, if your camera doesn't work, just type the code underneath it. If you still have troubles, contact support and they will give you your credit instead of bashing the company for your incompetency. There is also a tab to show you what you can use your points for and redeem them with a tap of a button. It's really not that hard. I am not an employee, just a big fan and hate to see a great and convenient tool created by a great company (compared to other burrito places) be rated so low because of stupid reasons.
Doesn't accept my login credentials even though I have verified them with the website. Worked fine on my old phone, not at all on a Google Pixel.
The old system was way better and really didn't have the problems Freebirds is claiming to alleviate with this app. They're trying to subtley gouge us in comparison to before, and it just is not welcome. Freebirds used to be just about our favorite company anywhere, ever, and they're going to amazing lengths to promote terrible customer experiences in the pursuit of attaining corporate uniformity and exquisite blandness. Way to go guys, keep up the good work of destroying your fanbase; I can't see how any of this works in your favor besides just on paper. Please wake up and at least TRY to be awesome again. I'll keep coming, but when my points run out, we'll have to see where things stand with this app stuff and general customer service. Also, bring back red onions and different tortilla sizes (for calorie options, if nothing else), you cheap bastards. Seriously, WTF? Bring back the Freebirds we loved.
Said I got a free burrito for downloading which was a n8ce surprise but now i can't find what happened to it. I closed the app and opened it back up and it was gone.
I earned a free burrito. didn't realized I have to redeem within 2 hours after clicking it and it's 2am. closed the app, and the redeem coupon is gone.
Literally the worst online ordering experience I've ever seen. What a terrible thing this is. I used to live in Milwaukee and ordered from AJ Bombers all the time and the app they had was great. None of the loyalty program BS, and the ordering actually worked. This app allowed me to add 4 tortillas to a burrito and order it that way
When the app first launched orders made with the app would automatically be add the points for the purchase.
I have referred over 10 people and have received points for one of them I could have a free item i belove by now and I don't because my points have been stuck on thirty five since I first made a purchase there of 21 dollars along with the ONE referral that was accounted for plus some drink orders I've made so I'd like my points if that can be arramged
Can't link my original members to App. Membership was set up with my phone number, not my email.
I signed up for a new account via their website using my email address. Since I could not seem to do anything productive there, I downloaded the app. It let me transfer my points to the new system and scan a receipt. Great. Except now I somehow have 2 accounts in the system using the same email, and I cant log into the "proper" one on the website. Perhaps I am missing something? Beyond that, I liked being able to just use a card. Mine is over 10ish years old and it's always been easy to carry in my pocket. I don't like being forced to use apps. Their new points system is also not as good for the consumers. Freebirds has changed so much since I first started going there, and most, if not all, of the changes have been bad. And I was just told today at freebirds that corporate is going to change "everything" soon. Why couldn't they just leave it as is when they bought it? It was good then. You don't need idiotic corporate tools armed with just an MBA to fix something that is already perfection. I am the last of my friends that still goes to freebirds, and I think I might be at that breaking point too. Nice job ruining something that was once great.
The scanner will not recognize my barcode on my receipt and I don't see a number to enter it manually. I preferred using the card as one swipe and I was done without having to do any of this. Did anyone QA this or was it just tossed out with a "I hope this works!"

App works fine for me, I liked the Freebirds card better but I can live with the app. One thing though, can you please allow me to disable the share publicly to social media? I hate having to uncheck that each time, just let me scan my reciept and be done, the extra step to turn off share is super annoying. Freebirds food is legit though, keep that up!
