This is a wonderful idea, sir. You can also use this app to send push notifications and updates for students as well as faculty. You can have provision for the students/faculty to have a unique barcode which could make them use this app for authorizations in the college. There are so many cool things that I can think about. I think this is a good starting point for all of that. Good luck, sir!

Few enhancements can be made. Provide a list of holidays for the year 2015. Make consistent of number of characters for day like Mon, Tue, Wed. Verify spellings of tamil words written in English. Holidays that fall on Saturday and Sunday can be shown in different color. Also adding monthly calendar may be plus. Good luck!
