La Carrera del Agua se concibió como un espacio de convivencia deportiva para conmemorar el Día Mundial del Agua, que se celebra el 22 de marzo de cada año, y con ello contribuir a fomentar una nueva cultura en relación con este recurso natural tan importante.

Además de incorporar el tema del agua en la visión de un modo de vida en equilibrio con la naturaleza y fomentar la activación física como elemento indispensable de la salud y el bienestar, quisimos garantizar la realización anual de esta celebración mediante la formación de un Patronato de la Carrera del Agua: una asociación civil que aglutine la participación de la comunidad y convoque, más allá de los cambios institucionales, a la organización de la Carrera. Water Race was conceived as a space of coexistence sport to commemorate World Water Day, celebrated on 22 March each year, and thus help to promote a new culture in relation to this important natural resource.

In addition to incorporating the issue of water in the vision of a way of life in harmony with nature and promote physical activation as an essential element of health and well-being, we wanted to ensure the annual realization of this celebration through the formation of a Board Water Race: a civil association that brings together the participation of the community and convene, beyond institutional changes, the organization of the race.
