VanConnect for Android
It took them over 2 months to get a reply about my complaint and it was closed without any follow-up. Great job gregor and unionized workers
A city maintenance manager called me and told me NOT TO USE THIS APP because it is inconvenient for them and my request won't get addressed as quickly as if I contact 311. There are 4 stages to requests in the app: submitted, received, in progress, completed. Whoever is managing this app just automatically marks everything to "In Progress" instead of "Received", usually within a half hour of making the request. However, there are tasks that have been "In Progress" for months. So you basically have zero knowledge about the actual progress or if it is being addressed or ignored. This app was a great idea but due to internal politics and poor procedure it is a complete failure.
Garbage in so many ways. Best just to uninstall.
Works smoothly for me on my android. No crashing. No freezing. All good
So useless and annoying
Saw info about the app and reporting potholes to the city on tv news. Couldn't find the subject matter in the index within app. If it's there it must be buried. Same with reporting water quality and parking violators. app needless auto stars. That's why you need root or an iPhone
Unclear and not particularly helpful. Great idea. Try limiting scope, and improving service. Needs real feedback from city workers or feels like your request goes into the abyss. No place for messages to city staff.
I went online to city of Vancouver to try to contact them but they suggested I download this app to contact them. Later on I found out I can't contact them about a question I have through their app.
When calling in graffiti or garbage complaints, first I explain where the problem is to 311, then 311 explains to the workers and it can be hard for them to find the spot because of the indirect route of information. With the app I can use GPS and upload a photo. I've found them to have a quick response with this method. If an issue doesn't fall into the responsibility of this department ( ie: rangers or Parkboard) they will forward it to the correct department.
Bike maps not up to date, no legend for road closures, app crashed when accessing submissions. This feels like it's in alpha testing. It is the worst of the city apps that I have used.
I've put in several requests but the feedback is "your problem is resolved: we have forwarded to 3-1-1" Pretty pointless to use the app when all roads lead back to calling 3-1-1 in the first place.
No information on what the color markings are?

So far not a legitimate or useful tool to improve city. It's all lip service.
But not worth internal memory. Please try an SD card instal.
Graffiti request submitted weeks ago, graffiti still there. Useless app just like a useless city hall.
Tried to download several times fr Google play doesn't happen
You can report things like graffiti but not slightly more life dependent issues like water quality.
Trying on two different phones - uninstalled and reinstalled. At one point it stopped saying loading, but I could not skip past the signup page. Please fix.
Looks pretty solid. Lots of useful maps and information, and a streamlined interface for reporting issues. I'd rather use the app than call 311.
App looks great.. Easy to use. Really like the maps of the city parks!

Garbage collection notifications still done on the VanCollect app (separate). If I log in using Facebook, it sits at the login screen, must click 'skip' to go further. Ok app, most of it accesses the website via app.
Some weird ui issues at startup. Seems to be pretty resource hungry, too - - crashed phone the first time it opened
Easy to use and nice to get updates digitally.
Good first rollout

Crashes constantly, then needs to be reinstalled to be used again. Map pins only show up if the items have been loaded in list view, leaving the map looking blank until you switch views and scroll. Submissions (eg. Potholes) display screws up and can make the app impossible to use. However it gets an extra star because the core concept is good, the app is just horribly developed.
