PromptWare Plus for Android
Seem like it might be a great app, but I see a couple of problems. First, on a device with a screen smaller than a tablet that doesn't have a dedicated menu key, which is what I'm using for motovlogging, there doesn't seem to be any button to get into the settings. Without that button, once you load a file into the teleprompter, there is no way to get out of it without stopping the app, and no going back to editing. Also no way to change settings. Second, there is the option to load files from DropBox, but if the app doesn't auto sync with DropBox, where is the function within the app to UPLOAD them to DropBox so that you can retrieve them? And if there is no function to upload them from within the app, then where does the the app store its files so that you can manually upload them? I realize that the app probably was intended for a tablet, but with some phones having screens nearly as big as the small tablets, having some buttons within the app to get to menus and settings would be great. At this point, I can only give it 3 stars. If these things weren't issues, it would be an easy 5 stars!
PromptWare Plus MENU does not show up. 1 Star only. This version hides the menu on Galaxy Tab Pro with Android 4.4.2 (and also, you cannot exit the program) ... and I am a "computer guy," so it's not the operator in this case.
This is another terrible app. No text size. Can't get out of prompter mode. It's terrible.
I love the touch autostart. So simple without any complicated menu and button. Good job ! Can't wait for any update !
Use as singer for band practice...nice and easy to read
I found no way to increase text size or speed. Didn't notice a mirror function either. It's basically a scrolling document. On the bright side, it was easy to cut & paste my doc. ... I have a brand new ACER tablet running Android. This a useless app in my book.
No edit. No tools? Is it just my phone or is the app really this bad? Why can't I exit the loader after entering it? Why can't I edit font size or margins? Why can't I set speed? Seriously?
Nice app, but one (and only one) point of interest: How do I load local files & where do I retrieve them/save them. The 'Local' button does nothing (and I don't want to use Dropbox). Can someone address this concern? I'd gladly pay for this app if it performed that task! Using this on a Samsung S6.
When importing text files from Dropbox that have been written externally this app strips out line breaks which is super annoying as I have to add them back in via the app.. Can this be fixed?
Options are invisible. Hating it
This is the second teleprompter app I've used. My last phone broke, and I couldn't find the last app I usedThis is very easy to use. On my laptop all I have to do is send myself an email with my script, then open that email on my phone, copy the script, then place it in the teleprompter program and BAM! I even made a semi pro looking stand, and I have a very sturdy and visually appealing set up. I'm a youtuber and am currently making a video on this. Great job to the creators of this awesome app! Thank you!
Uploading text is taking hours and then it restart uploading the text afain. It works fine on my iPhone but I am really disappointed on android please fix the problem
Fastest speed is too slow and largest font is too small. Fix this plus add ability to control speed more dynamically directly from within the prompter (like allowing the position bar to be swiped left/right to adjust the speed) and allow the key mapping function to support volume keys and then this little gem will be near perfect.
Now, I can play my guitar and not worry about forgetting the Lyrics!
I bought the listec prompter and then downloaded this software to use with it. The prompter comes is nice hardware, but the software is not of the same quality. I can not change the size or the speed. The key board controls do not work as instructed. There is no option for a slave device to run it with a seperate device. Once the text is loaded in the prompter it won't exit, I have to shut the entire program down. I'm running a galaxy s5 with kitkat 4.4. There are other programs that are much better.
We have invested in purchasing the Listec hardware but no updates. The app is buggy
Very Useful
Would not download onto my samsung note 4 wasted over an hour trying to get it to work
This is a pretty nice app, but I have a few problems: * The speed changes and/or the script restarts if the bluetooth keyboard times out and disconnects. Ergo, can't leave the keyboard on while reading. (Can the app "ping" the keyboard when paired to keep it alive?) * The dynamic and static speed controls (including the increment) are too coarse. Just give me a pair of sliders (one for size, one for increment) that work like the one for text size so that I can find the most comfortable pace and move on without having to reverse engineer menu settings that come close but don't quite match my reading pace. * Lack of precise speed control makes it especially tough to use on small phones.
FREE Looks nice Works OK Padding adjustable ====== Cannot search local drive not too mention the SD card. Dropbox does not work. Speed works nice one you figure it out.
I spent all night looking for a good teleprompter app and this is the best one that I've found. It has options that no other one has. Although there might be room for improvement. This is the best free app that I have found. I do professional voice over recordings, and this is the one that I have chosen to use.
While the other prompting software on Android does the job, only this app gives you the options and flexibility to optimise the script's presentation. That means you can focus on your performance without having to constantly work around your autocues limitations.
I cannot get back to the control screen once the printer is running
Outstanding, performs as expected.
Awesome app... I would have paid for it.
Listec Teleprompters-make a note that this Dev. wants to make quality apps. Works perfectly and is pretty genius.
I have an AzpenPC and this app couldn't copy, paste text or read text files from dropbox without timing out. Even after clearing apps, ram and storage. It had the same issues with my Samsung 3 mini. Wasted time discovering this. A compatible app. was comprable to my devices.
Would be great if you could sync devices. A man can hope....

Locks on moving script. Only way to get out is to reboot. Deleted.
Exactly what I need...except keyboard settings don't work. No way to control it via bluetooth. FAIL!
I have been looking for a prompter that works well on the android platform for a while now. This one is currently the best the only thing it needs is linking to celtx and remote wireless with another android device for script loading speed control etc. I still am going to have to use my apples devices for the majority of my prompter work but this one will be on stand by if needed. Id pay for the features mentioned above.
Best teleprompter app currently for Android. But Remote Prompter is close. These two are the only modern and professional prompter apps-- glad to finally have something decent on Android. I used it on a shoot today, just holding it above the lens and finger scrolling when necessary. Worked like a charm. It has really customizable settings. Almost everything you'd need. It's easy to edit a script in the app. The only problem is that you can't use all of the functions from a bluetooth (or otherwise) keyboard. You can bounce up and bounce down, and with a mouse you can pause. That's it. It does have a menu to set keys to all of the functions (the important one being speed adjustment), and it confirms when you change it. But it doesn't work. I hope that it's just an error that they will fix. But I worry that it might be their way of getting you to buy their remote. When it costs more than 100 USD, and it's just a clone of one that you can easily find on Amazon for 20 or 30 USD. I hope that isn't the case. I have emailed them. I do plan to buy one of those remotes from Amazon.
Nice, simple app that doesn't skimp on options. I haven't been able to get the on-the-fly speed adjustment to work with my Droid 2 so far... configured 2 keyboard keys, but they don't appear to change the speed when pressed. That said, it's buttery smooth, highly configurable, and free. :-) Looking forward to trying it in the studio!
By far the best teleprompter program availabl e for Android. I am a vision impaired minister. With this program on my tablet hooked up to a larger monitor I am able to lead the liturgy and worship hands free. Thank you for this program
Hi, i wanted to know, can anyone tell me if this application is compatible with a Google TV?
1/ no way to use phone as a remote and see what is being seen by the person reading the prompter!!! This is crucial, the cameraman cannot be in front of the camera and behind the camera at the same time... so this means you have to have someone rolling the prompter and cannot do it yourself, as I always do with my PrompterPeople / PC professional system. 2/ have to buy third party hardware to control the speed on the fly 3/ biggest font too small
You guys need a middle ground with speed... Its either super fast or super slow.
The speed of this prompter is way too slow! I seriously can't get it to go faster than 3.0, and that's too slow for what I'm trying to do. Also, out of all the formats I downloaded into the dropbox account that I only created specifically for this, it only accepted .txt files, which was annoying, because I had to go back through and re-format it. ALSO it should be compatible with Drive OR Dropbox. The only reason this has 2 stars and not 1 is because I can scroll up or down while it's running. Please PLEASE fix!!
