IDrive Online Backup

It used to be a good app, but for several months now, the scheduled backups just don't run. Contacted tech support and their only solution was to log out and log back in. This causes the backup to work for few days and then stop again. Automatic camera uploads also doesn't work.

My phone died this year but I was able to recover my data because I'd been using this app. Very happy with the restore process. However, the scheduled backup only works intermittently so I have to try and remember to run it. Have written to their support people but they do not fix the problem. Frustrating!

iDrive would be nice, if it wasn't so SLOW. They "claim" they do not throttle uploads, but even with a high speed connection, their uploads are 350kps AT BEST. One year is all I can handle with them. Beware, they have been known to bill you even when you have auto renew turned off.

This app does very BASIC things; way less than freely available alternatives. The "send link" option does NOT work. The app does NOT integrate with android file explorer. The app totally freezes is internet is unavailable. Some icons are different but perform the same action. No icon has explanation about what it will do; it's a trial and error procedure. I suggest NOT installing the app and sticking to the desktop app. Use another file sharing provider on mobile.

Worked well enough but has little quirks that are enough to make me look elsewhere for a better service. Those quirks involve failed backups so keep an eye out to make sure your files are being backed up. Customer service seems to be non-existent given I don't hear back from anyone.

The worst backup app I've ever used. Very slow,no resume option !, Scheduled backup always hang up . Waste of money.

Scheduled backup hangs up a lot, so scheduled backup failes for weeks at a time before I notice - even for simple backups like SMS only.

3 star. When backing up, the app uploads at max speed crashing the house network. Needs a up speed limit function; without, you have to manage when you let it run.

The PC version works flawlessly. The Android version, not so much. Scheduled backups hang 99% of the time. Sometimes they don't run at all.

It's a great service but the app need some improvement.. like select folders and be able to select all items inside the folders * it will be great if there is a pause option

Good for nothing im trying to backup a video and this starts from 0 over & over again im done with this app

I bought a 1000gb plan in April and the IDrive sys tray notification indicated that I had used 41% of my 1000gb. In Oct I received a notice that I was over my limit by 97gb while the IDrive sys tray notification said that I was at 41% used of my 1000gb. I called to cancel and get a refund of the $25.03 overage fee I had been charged for a one month overage. I was told by "Frank" he would cancel my account but if I canceled wouldn't receive the overage refund. Frank said that all refunds go to the partners for approval and they would not refund the overage charge on a canceled account. Seems like a scam as I hadn't increased my backup folders or files. It would seem that they make their profit off of overage fees that shouldn't have been charged. I don't recommend this to at all

App REQUIRES permission to make and receive phone calls and will NOT allow you to use the service without granting approval.

Happy to use it. Only one thing impressed me is the price. Needs improvement ofcours: like there is no option to select the whole folder amd items inside the folders. Backup is slow but there are a lot other factors of that. Customer service is amazing-- live chat 24/7 best thing to know about. Just wondering when is the next app update want to see the option to select the folders and there should be an option to backup all data from other storage like Dropbox and Google drive.

No longer backups. Very frustrating.

UI easy to use once you understand how it works! I now use IDrive to back up all my devices! Can't beat the price! Attractive add on plans for upgrading!

Needs a way to PAUSE backups since this app hogs the entire network bandwidth! Could also add setting to limit the amount of bandwidth.

Very deceptive promotion (lifetime subscription is only for the device) & the options of what to backup on iOS are only contacts videos and photos. Android gives slightky more options of what can be backed up. I just threw away $19.99.

Took two days to get my pics back after getting a new phone & half came back as a grey square.. won't use this app again

Regularly fails to backup my selected data

It was good initially, now I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app 4 times, but there is no action, after logging in, the keys don't respond, very poor management. People don't depend on this app now to store your important data. Anyone from the Idrive side listening ?

Cancelling is near impossible. They want the last four of credit card on account. There is no way to log into account and verify which credit card was used. Run away!

My timeline can not be updated. It has been late for two days. The refresh CAN NOT help.

Company keeps trying to to charge my expired credit cards.

PC version is ok. But the Android version does not reliably run scheduled backups. I've tried to get it to work several times over the last year. If I'm lucky, it will run one or two scheduled backups, then - without any notifications - it just stops running the backups. So, as an "online backup" app for Android, it is less than useless.

I had to use a VPN to get uploading your backup to work. My wifi just showed 220 mips download and 11 mips upload with Speedtest. Maybe my isp just doesn't like uploading? The low stars rating is because every time I try something in this app it threatens to start a restore. Really not very good promps & such.

Disappointed in both app and support. Automated backup does not run ever, and support has not responded to my request for help in over a week.
