About Constructor Developer Tool

Tango Constructor is an experimental developer app that demonstrates selected features of Tango.

This application is very unstable. Crashes all over the place. The best part is, that it's only possible to access the recorded model data by sharing. Sharing itself crashes with most of the models I access. Don't expect a scan quality as shown in the pictures above. In reality the quality is very bad. Text like Googleville above can't be read with the Asus Zenfone AR. Then, that the application exports ADF data is not true. The few models I was able to export don't contain an ADF file. This app reflects the state of Tango in general very well.

please hurry and get this working with the phab2 pro UPDATE: it now work with the phab 2. unfortunately, when you make a capture it consumes all available space on the device. Review Score stays the same. Avoid it and go with RTAB-MAP or Open constructor.

This is a really nice app with a lot of potential. Unfortunately in the v1.2.0 version, the option to perform an actual mesh export appears to be unavailable.

Is this app not anymore available for Google Tango tablet (development kit)?

The new features are nice, especially the drift correction. Unfortunately the app crashes every time during postprocessing if a larger scene, i.e. a three storey staircase, is scanned. Also it would be nice, if the postprocessing could be initiated manually, not by default, since it does not always make the results better.

Thanks for update but when map got big texture creation become to slow and result have low res on big mesh because texture is always 2048 , please add an option to choose between vertex colour and texture and mesh can use multiple texture for better results

Great app. Doesn't handle bright light well. Would also like to scan outdoors. Paracosm has a video of it being done (using project tango phone). Is it possible ? Also, making it possible to export as an autodesk recap supported file would be great for post processing. Other than that I'm seeing progress and this is the best app for project tango so far.

Can it support saving to Google drive ?

Could you please tell me how to re-load a previously scanned obj file, back into the screen where you can navigate with your fingers? (ie the screen that pops up after you hit Save). Thank you!

Only suggestion so far: Please have it keep the screen on or at least show a notice. I lost my first scan because I did not notice the screen dimming then shut off. Now time for more testing! Update: it actually saves to device if the card was not installed at first run. Does not seem to export vertex color. But I really like it, thanks.
