529 Garage Beta for Android
Great idea, poor implementation. You get to see an alert ONCE ONLY, if you missed it the search doesn't show recently reported bikes!?! They are only accessible when the notification happens or not until days later. Also should include other questions like 'lock type / brand', 'how long bike was at location' that would help assess risky behavior to improve rider awareness.
Awesome idea, terrible app. Searching is painful and often fails to show results. Please fix as I love the idea!
Log it, location, lock it! #endbiketheft
Good app but is your bike officially registered with the vpd
Wasted like an hour trying to get this app to work in my Sony phone. I even completed registration from a computer then tried to use the app but still never ending circle of login , confirm, close. Why offer app's that don't work? I don't get that.
App hasnt been updated in 9 months and has tons of issues. The sticker they are trying to sell is a ripoff and comes off easy
Although this app is in early development, every little bit of security is beneficial when owning a bike you care for. If you charess your investment as much as I do, get this app. You've got nothing to lose, and everything to gain from having it.
Keeps crashing while I try to add a bike. Wasted 20 minutes of my time.
Stops working every time I try to add a bike.
I like this app easy and strait forwards
Just do it!!!!
Terrible. Crashes during picture selection, only lists one bike of the two in the garage. Just use the site.
Hate the log in with social networking" setup
I think it's a great app
Would be nice when sharing stolen bikes to social media/ email there is a link to view the bike and details. It's just a quick blurb about the type of bike and that it's stolen... Kinda hard to get the work out to non app users that the bike has been stolen.
It would be beneficial in the identification of stolen bicycles if the app gets a scanning feature similar to a QR code scanner. Scan the badge license number and then reference it with the database to see if the number has been listed as stolen. Physical descriptions are useful but there are a lot of bikes that look the same.
Great tool for combatting bike theft, but I tried to delete and add a bunch of photos at the same time and now the app crashes on startup. Great idea, poor coding
What about collaborate with 411 and be able to track recently stolen bikes. Like send out a mass message and picture to thousands of people. Currently we already do this on Facebook in my city. If somone made an app for that it would be even more effective
Great app, hope I don't have to use it
App crashes on the screen after I selected my receipt
A great resource for keeping scumbag bike thieves at bay. There's a special place in hell for bike thieves!
Good idea, but I refuse to sign in using social media/email. I don't just give out passwords like they don't matter, sorry.
Last I checked, you couldn't change a bike to stolen via the app; you could only do it from the website. Also, it doesn't seem to do anything other than act as a data repository that can print out a poster when you change a bike to stolen. Seems useless, but I like the sticker as a deterrent. Definitely use Bike Index. Many shops and police departments actually check serial numbers against their listings.
At least it is something. The cyclists who actually ride for life daily, need to be part of this in order to make it work. It has the potential to help retrieve most of the stolen bikes but only when everyone takes action and be part of this project...529. Not a good name....I think.
The app REQUIRES you to connect your Facebook, Twitter, or Google account just to log in. This is annoying considering that I intentionally didn't choose to do so when I registered via the website. It would be great to log in with the login info I created on the website. Thanks!
The Login Failure bug isn't fixed. I can't login in; the "Confirm" icon does nothing when I press it.
Still can't log in even though it says the bug is fixed. This app worked perfectly for my iPhone but not for my Android. Bummer
When it asks me to confirm my email address the "confirm" button doesn't work at all. So I can't even make an account
I have to log in with social media in order to make this work... then it doesn't link to your account anyways. What is the point of this app?
You get spammed with multiple notifications for every stolen bike report. Need to be able to change radius for notifications, so it's only notifying you of reports for your area. Had to uninstall to make it stop.
I keep getting "unknown error." I can sign in from my desktop from home so I know the account is active and password is correct. Disappointed
Had to uninstall because the app was causing wakelocks on my galaxy s6 edge running 6.0.1
Hate the clog in with social networking" setup
I don't know why someone didn't think of this sooner but I'm glad 529 did. I've had multiple bikes stolen so theft is a problem. The app works great and the more people who register their bikes with 529 the more effective it is!
Installed on Samsung Galaxy S4, worked well for a while but keeps crashing. Uninstalled, notified developers. Kinda bummed.... bike thieves suck. Still support the project tho!
Been waiting for the Android version since I first heard about these guys. Woot!!!

Some bugs and sometimes crashes, but it is still in Beta. I update my bikes via website. Looking forward to the full fledged app
