Checked my data in settings and it turns it on/off as it should. Seems to be some confusion in the reviews. This app turns CELLULAR DATA off and on from a home screen widget --NOT WIFI. Search Play for wifi widget if that's what you're looking for.

The application works fine. With one exception , it turns itself on and off. It's too sensitive because it turns itself off when not in use!
