About ON Protractor
ON PROTRACTOR turn your smart phone into a useful protractor set for quick angle and slope measurement. It helps you measure the angle of everything conveniently and accurately with your phone anywhere, anytime.
It combines four most important angle measuring modes in one app, which is Touch Measure On Screen, Touch Measure with Camera, Plumb Measure On Screen and Plumb Measure With Camera. Each measuring mode operates differently to cater for your needs in measures the angle of different types of object from small object to huge object and even objects far away such as buildings.
ON Protractor is very easy to use, as described below. You can also switch the protractor measurement unit between degree and radian by just a click.
With ON Protractor, now you always bring an angle measuring pack with you as in your smart phone.
Measuring Mode 1: TOUCH MEASURE ON SCREEN
Place measured object on the screen and move the two line limiters to aligned with object's boundaries. This measuring mode normally used for small object in the range of screen size (Refer preview image 1)
Measuring Mode 2: TOUCH MEASURE WITH CAMERA
Aim the camera at the target object, at the same time move the two line limiters to aligned with the object's boundaries. This measuring mode normally used to measures large object. (Refer preview image 2)
Measuring Mode 3: PLUMB MEASURE ON SCREEN
Rotate the orientation of device in clockwise or counter-clockwise direction until the plumb line and protractor center line aligned with the boundaries edge of measured object. This measuring mode normally used to measures stationary and object larger than screen size. (Refer preview image 3)
Measuring Mode 4: PLUMB MEASURE WITH CAMERA
Aim the camera at the target object and rotate the orientation of device in clockwise or counter-clockwise direction until the plumb line and protractor center line aligned with the boundaries edge of target object. Press 'Lock' to fix the screen and take the measurement reading. This measuring mode normally used to measures the slope of huge object. (Refer preview image 4)

The advantage of ON Protractor is that it allows you to adjust the position of one arm at a time using just 1 finger, instead of using 2 fingers at a time as in the case of other apps such as "Smart Protractor". What would be even better is if there was a "Capture Image" button as in the other "ON" apps such as "ON Distance", since ensuring a precise fit of the angle arms while holding the camera steady in real time isn't easy. Do this and you get 5 stars. :)

Angle modes are completely manual entry or simple plumb angle. No ability to set a zero reference angle or to recognize lines in images. It's OK, but very simplistic.

Tried 3 other apps for protractor, this one fit the bill. Made it very easy to determine angles on existing pipe runs so we could make it all match. Even (especially) on bends that weren't standard 10, 22, 45, 60, 90 etc. Make it usable on pictures so you don't have to hold the phone steady, and this would be a 5 instead of 4 stars.

Trying to hold the camera steady while taking a measurement is a pain. It needs the ability to load photo from gallery or take a picture so the image remains still while measuring.

Here protractor base is fixed on left side of mobile. Option to change protractor base as per requirement will give added advantage. I'm my mob, volume keys r on left side, can't fixed mob with inclined surface properly to get more accuracy.
