About ON Measuring Tape
ON MEASURING TAPE is a simple and easy to use measuring tool for quick measure of object's length. This flexible ruler helps you conveniently and accurately measures the length of everything with your phone anywhere, anytime.
ON Measuring Tape is special designed to measures the dimension of objects that are larger and longer than your device's screen size. You can also use our free apps, ON 2D-CameraMeasure or ON 3D-CameraMeasure to measure large object in more advance and professional way. For object that smaller than the device's screen size, ON Ruler is recommended.
Using ON Measuring Tape is very intuitive and easy. You just need to click on the screen with your finger and move the device with another hand repeatedly from the start point to the end point of measured object, then take the reading. This measuring tape has unlimited tape length, you can also switch the length unit between metric and inches.
For perfect accuracy, you will be requested to do calibration at the first time you open the application. Calibration need to be carried out only one time per installation.
With ON Measuring Tape, now you always bring a tape measure with you as in your smart phone.

I used a credit card to verify and it was right on! Make sure to set settings for exact screen size. If you dont know screen size look under the battery for phone's model number and google it followed by specs or scrren size. You should find it. Great stuff!

Am I the only one who noticed the distance measured is centimeters and NOT millimeters?? The segments IN BETWEEN the numbers on the metric side are the millimeters, NOT the distance between the numbers!! At least the non-metric side is correct.. That's why 2 stars and not 1..

The accuracy of this app utterly depends on entering the correct value of your screen size during calibration. However, the phone's reported specs may not be precise. Eg, my Galaxy J7 has a 5.5" screen, but the tape was correctly calibrated only with a value of 5.45". The app thoughtfully provides a small ruler for "verification" in the calibration screen, which you should check with a vernier calliper and adjust the screen size value accordingly to obtain correct readings.

This app works well if you move your device the same amount of inches each time; however, in order to do so accurately, a second start point is needed to maintain accuracy. That way, one moves the exact distance each time from start to finish.

Could post a video in the app to explain how to use this app. The measurement looks tricky. I am unsuccessful in its effective use. Can you make the scale to move automatically and proportionately as the device is moved to the right?

Didn't have a tape, once I punched in my screen size and said for the screen to lock the tape; it was simple and elegant if it wasn't pretty about it. Few pencil marks, but it did the trick.

First time it was off 1 .5 inch but not due to its error but to find it was my own it's a little tricky to use at first but I calibrated mine with an actual tape measure and it now is accurate. .. would recommend to anyone who has trouble finding a tape when you need one like me lol

It's *good* and all.... Unless you wanna use the inch measurements. The units used are 10ths of inches... Umm ok? Inching uses halves in fractions. 1/2 inch, 1/4, 1/8,1/16,1/32 and 1/64 being the most precise. Seems like whoever made this has never used a tape before.

Not the easiest to use, but when you get it, it is accurate; of course, the mm are actually cm ... It is not as good as a real tape measure, but it is much better than NO tape measure ;-) The whole thing is to keep your finger motionless and slide the screen under it. Fix the mm/cm bug and it is a 5 stars. A very creative and clever use of touch-screen !

My screen stays on when app is open but not in use. Typically the phone would retreat to sleep mode in the period of time elapsed, as I have it set that way but; it did not. I don't think the battery would last long under these types of conditions otherwise. Anyone else's phone/app cause this issue? Seems-(ballpark) accurate otherwise. Fun app!

Good enough, if you know your screen size. All I needed was an approximate size for my crochet and turns out it needs calibration confirmation. I ended up finding and using an old sew & knit gauge, which I then used on my crochet project instead. XD
