Polar Beat – Fitness Coach for Android
Good App but it should sync all history and also share it eith Google Fit.
Installed this app as I bought a Polar M200 sport watch, which has a built-in optical heart rate sensor. I could not believe this, but the Polar M200 does not sync with the Polar Beat app, even thought the M200 has Bluetooth Low Energy, and keeps sending a heart rate signal over bluetooth every second (I checked this with a bluetooth development tool). I mean, how stupid is this. Polar might be OK for their hardware, but it seems they haven't quite made the step to a software/app company. De-installed.
Basically good but still lot of room for improovements. The A370 should be able to send its HR-Monitoring to the Beat-App but it doesn't. They pair but no Heart rate is shown in Beat. It works fine with my H10. I tried on two devices Samsung Note 3 and S3 but no luck. Why is there no altitude shown when recording my work outs with Beat? Another big annoyance has been solved since September 1st. It's to add "Beat work outs" to your daily activity target in Flow. Means I can charge my wrist device an do a workout with Beat in the meanwhile. Great!
I do like this app a lot and use it several times a week. However: Polar has somehow decided that i don't need to customize my information panel for ongoing workouts. I would really like to specificly know what my average pulse rate is and i don't want some statistical chart that leaves me guessing what that value is while taking up a lot of screen space for no good reason. I would like to know what my average speed is, i don't care about calories burnt. There are many other values a person might be interested im seeing and personally i could care less about what look some designer found estheticly pleasing. As a minimum i want customization options. If these already exist then they are not obvious. I will switch instantly if i find another app that does this, but still lets me differentiate my workout-types and has an integrated map.
Excellent tracking app. Only flaw is that height is not tracked.
It found my polar h7 again! Happy that I did not invest in something else meanwhile. Heart monitoring works fine. Thanks for the fixes! I'll try the GPS in my next outside workouts
I wish they would stop working on social media features and put effort into the basic functionality. 1. I have to log in again each time... Why? 2. I can't trim the recording of a session. So if I forget to stop it and find I have recorded the drive home, I'm stuck with useless data. Seriously, this is basic stuff that should just work.
On moto e android 5 this doesn't launch, despite 468MB of Dram free and plenty of ROM. I have am h7 strap waiting.
It's good.
Which is bad, when I'm hiking I much prefer to use my phone over my watch for tracking, but without altitude that's a bit of a bad deal for hikes, otherwise, nice enough app
The app keeps forgetting my signed in user, and I need to log back in about once a day, if not more often.
This version allows to turn off the mobile screen. Is it possible to roll back to the previous version?
Doesn't find my polar h7 anymore.... Can't believe I bought everything polar thinking it would be good quality. Already changed my fit tracker for another brand, think I'll have to do the same for heart rate monitoring
Lost connection to monitor continually had to pair.
Good App but it should sync all history and also share it eith Google Fit.
My polar won't sync with the app and i tried a million different things. Blootooth is on, the device works because i use it regularly but the app wont see it. How can i get it to connect?
I pod doesn't work with it. Other than that it is OK.
This app works great, it tracks heart rate, distance etc, but it would be amazing if you could either program or download interval training into it, other than that its great
I can never track my position & heart rate. It's either one or the other, never both. As a results, it can't track my trainings correctly. It would be OK if I could track my position with polar beat and my HR with my Polar Loop, but polar flow sees them as 2 different trainings taking place at the exact same moment -.- very annoying and no feature allowing me to merge them. Will have to use other apps and buy other gears cause polars have problems with every apps on every devices...
The program stops working if you get a call when you're using it. I've still not managed to track one of my training sessions due to incoming calls...
Why does this app not work with my polar wearlink bluetooth monitor? Never a device from polar again! Uninstall!!!
The fitness test in version 1.2.1 now works with the H7 sensor and Nexus 5! Update: The fitness test now even works on Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1 on Polar Beat 1.2.3 with the H7 sensor.
My Smartwatch 3 has SO much potential, but so fiew app developers has picked up the stick. Polar Beat only shows me that the app is running on the phone. Nothing else. A watch that can recieve voice commands and display exercise data should be utilized! Would make this 5-star for me.
The fitness test in version 1.2.1 now works with the H7 sensor and Nexus 5!
It used to work fine on my S4. I upgraded to One plus one , doesn't work anymore. I pod doesn't work with it either. Cant even install it. Why the selectivity on corporate flagships? Expand to get more stars.
there's an error in the Android version of the Polar Beat application. In some cases Polar Fitness Test part of the application does not recognize the heart rate sensor correctly. We are working for fix of this error but can not promise yet when the update will be released, unfortunately. This info Ive got from support. Global Customer Service/
First I was excited about the integration of the fitness test feature, which I truly loved on my Polar Fitness Tracker, so I instantly made the in-app purchase. But it always shows an error message, telling me to pair a compatible HR sensor, even though my sensor (Polar H7) is recognized correctly in the app's Settings and by Endomondo (where I never had any trouble while connecting the sensor to the Polar app was painful...). So don't buy the in-app purchases!

I love this app but we should be able to disable the voice guide without stopping the training.
