About Arko
The Philippines is hit by an average of twenty typhoons a year. Most of the time, these cause major flooding that can be a danger to one’s life and livelihood. Lives have been lost due to storm flooding because people didn’t know what path to take to safety or even if their area would be hit by a flood-causing downpour.
Arko hopes to address the need of every Filipino to more information during times of major rains and flooding. By accessing the extensive databases of Project NOAH and DOST, Arko can give the user up-to-the-minute updates on rainfall and other weather conditions near you or wherever you choose.
Features
• Flood Mapping: Using data from previous floods (like Ondoy), Arko will show you which areas are prone to flooding so you can avoid them, or designate a safe zone where evacuees can go to during floods.
• Remote Monitoring: Arko can allow you to check on how flooding and/or rainfall is in other areas. Perfect for those who worry if a family member, loved one or friend is doing fine despite the weather.

• Weather Advisory: By connecting with Project NOAH, PAGASA and DOST's various weather monitoring facilities, Arko can give you updates on the weather. It can even give you a good estimate on whether it will rain or not, based on the data it gets.

It is always showing arko has stopped throughout the day, otherwise a good app.

Interface is not user-friendly and no tips or instructions on how to use. Using this will be a challenge especially with old folks. Also, loading data seems to fail most of the time. I am using 4g and my connection is stable and there are no conflicts with my device so I am certain it is not an issue with my device. I will keep this for the moment and see if this app improves, if not then uninstall. 2 stars till this proves to be a reliable app.

I've installed this maybe 5 times already, often during typhoons. I've also uninstalled this 5 times, often within 10 minutes. It has potential as a useful app. To the people who say this is 5-stars useful and great, maybe you should explain in detail how you use it so people like me might begin to appreciate it more.

Hi, Just some observations: - yesterday the Arko map showed parts of Makati and Pasay in red, w/c by your gauge should be neck-deep -- they weren't - please tweak the rain gauge, particularly the "orange" level -- it's between knee- and neck-level, kinda hard to judge how deep the floods really are. - any way you can combine all DOST/NOAH apps into one? Other than that, great job guys!

I like the new look. functionality wise, the app is good, too. To those saying sana pwede gamiting kahit wlang internet.. KELANGAN po ng internet para ma download ang flood sa cellphone. Yan lang po ang tanging paraan para gumana ang app na ito.
